A further complication associated with the application of molecular mechanics calculations to relative stabilities is that strain energy differences correspond to A(AH) between conformers with similar chromophores (electronic effects) and an innocent environment (counter ions and solvent molecules), whereas relative stabilities are based on A(AG). As reviewed designers in the plastics and other industry have the responsibility to ensure that all products produced will be safe and not contaminate the environment, etc. Recognize that when you encounter a potential problem, you are guilty until proven innocent (or is it supposed to be the reverse). So keep the records you need to survive the legal actions that can develop. 

The ferrocene moiety is not just an innocent steric element to create a three-dimensional chiral catalyst environment. Instead, the Fe center can influence a catalytic asymmetric process by electronic interaction with the catalytic site, if the latter is directly coimected to the sandwich core. This interaction is often comparable to the stabilization of a-ferrocenylcarbocations 3 (see Sect. 1) making use of the electron-donating character of the Cp2Fe moiety, but can also be reversed by the formation of feirocenium systems thereby increasing the acidity of a directly attached Lewis acid. Alternative applications in asymmetric catalysis, for which the interaction of the Fe center and the catalytic center is less distinct, have recently been summarized in excellent extensive reviews and are outside the scope of this chapter [48, 49], Moreover, related complexes in which one Cp ring has been replaced with an ri -arene ligand, and which have, for example, been utilized as catalysts for nitrate or nitrite reduction in water [50], are not covered in this chapter. 

The results of this survey led the authors to conclude that traces of high explosives were rare within the general public environment. In fact, no traces of NG, TNT or PETN were detected at any of the public sites sampled during this project. Only four low level traces of RDX were detected. Therefore, they concluded that it was unlikely that a member of the public would be innocently contaminated with a significant quantity of explosives.

Under no circumstance should unauthorized software ever be put on a production computer, no matter how innocent it seems. Because of the environment, production computers run more erratically, have more downtime, and require more maintenance than their counterparts in the administration building. For users as well as for corrosion experts, corrosion has a relative aspect. In principle, corrosion is defined as the degradation of a metal by its environment. At which point is this then called corrosion This question is neither simple nor innocent. Appropriate electrochemical methods measure corrosion currents as low as 1 p,A, which corresponds to a dissolution rate of less than 1 p,m per year.
