Document quote that states the selling price and other sales conditions of a material, product, etc. Did you know that by law if someone reports that verbally the vender made statements such as buy this injection molding machine and all you have to do is push a button to make good/acceptable parts ... the vender is in trouble... even if that vendor wins the case (odds are against winning), it will be very expensive to be in court. [Pg.290]

Injection molding allows the rapid, economical production of small to large parts. It provides close tolerances and the same machine can be used to mold many different articles. Parts can be molded combining the polymer with other polymers and with any number of additives. Further, it can be nm so that various parts can be easily married as part of an entire or combined-parts production assembly of an article. The ability to easily modify the operating conditions of the injection-molding machine is important because of the variety of articles that may be needed, variety of material employed to produce the same (general) article, variety of materials to produce different injection-molded articles, and the variability of supposedly the same polymer material from batch to batch. [Pg.563]

The mold cavity. The central point in an injection molding machine is the mold. The mold distributes polymer melt into and throughout the cavities, shapes the part, cools the... [Pg.146]

Latex rubber can be poured like polyurethanes, but they generally are only poured in thin sheets. Even thicker sheets such as Linatex require a very long cure time. Pouring is the method of choice for cast polyurethanes. Normally, rubbers require a compression molding press or injection molding machine to produce parts. This has high capital and mold costs. [Pg.151]

Thermoplastic polyurethanes are designed to be processable by standard plastic machinery such as extruders and injection molding machines. Thermoplastic polyurethanes have been used in biomedical applications. They also can be used in the microcellular form where the apparent density can be reduced. Some applications include tubing, handles, automotive parts, and shoe soles and heels. [Pg.268]

If all injection molding machines were 100 percent efficient, the energy required to make a part would be constant regardless cf the machine used. No machine Is 100 percent efficient however, some systems are more efficient than others. Figure 1 shows a comparison of energy consumption for various injection molding machines as reported by Reed Prentice Company (2). The calculations are based on 20 working days, 24 hours per day, 1 Kw/hp/hour... [Pg.9]

The twin-screw injection molding extruder is an injection molding machine that is capable of both blending/compounding and extrusion in one step. Because it is a one step process, the fibers never go through the entire extrusion process as well as the pelletization that limits the fiber size, but are blended into the molten plastic before injection. The screw part of this machine is based on a non-intermeshing, counterrotating twin-screw extruder (Chapter 5). One of the screws in this machine is capable of axial movement and has a non-return valve on the end. This action enables the screw to inject and mold parts. [Pg.510]

The term dispersion refers to how well the pigments are wetted out in the plastic matrix (see below), whereas distribution refers to the uniformity of color in the part. Finally, in referring to the parts fabrication process, the term molder is used below to represent any the following pieces of equipment injection molding machine, injection or extrusion blow molding machine, or rotational molding machine. [Pg.321]

Injection molding machines can control machine elements only with feedback from sensed process data. A fundamental difficulty in polymer processing is that very few of the final part properties can be ascertained within the molding cycle. Instrumentation does not yet exist, and may never exist, to yield information about... [Pg.1404]
