Influential Factors

All the factors listed below can affect project cost and/or schedule. Some will have a favorable impact, others a negative one. Some are controllable, while others are not. Since no two projects are alike, the effect will vary with the circumstances surrounding each one. Every factor must be considered and analyzed before finalizing the project execution plan. Galvanic corrosion in typical industrial cooling water systems is the net result of the interplay of these factors. Some factors may accelerate the corrosion process others may retard it. In their approximate order of importance, the more influential factors are discussed below. 

Based on the collected information, a decision/action (DA) chart was developed to provide an overview of the main decisions involved in the blowdown operation and the main influential factors such as time stress, conflicting responsibilities, risk of gas ignition etc. Task Analysis and Error Analysis of the blowdown operation were subsequently carried out to obtain a description of the sequence of tasks steps and the likely human error modes which could occur. 

For catastrophic demand-related pump failures, the variability is explained by the following factors listed in their order of importance system application, pump driver, operating mode, reactor type, pump type, and unidentified plant-specific influences. Quantitative failure rate adjustments are provided for the effects of these factors. In the case of catastrophic time-dependent pump failures, the failure rate variability is explained by three factors reactor type, pump driver, and unidentified plant-specific Influences. Point and confidence interval failure rate estimates are provided for each selected pump by considering the influential factors. Both types of estimates represent an improvement over the estimates computed exclusively from the data on each pump. The coded IPRDS data used in the analysis is provided in an appendix. A similar treatment applies to the valve data. 

Processing is extremely important in regard to tolerance control in certain cases it is the most influential factor. The dimensional accuracy of the finished product relates to the process, the machining accuracy of mold or die, and the process controls, as well as the shrinkage behavior of the plastic. 

In the previous section, numerical simulations predicted the change of contact ratio as a function of film thickness. Professor J. B. Luo in the State Key Laboratory of Tribology (SKLT) [68] has conducted an experimental study for measuring the relationships between the contact ratio and influential factors, which are presented in the following. 

Pollutant Exposure and Chemical Composition of Plants Let us consider the influence of various exposure factors on the chemical composition of plant species in the arctic islands. It seems the most influential factor is the distance from the ocean shore. For example, in arctic willow growing a few meters from the tide line, the content of Zn, Cu, Pb, and Ni was higher than that of the same plant... 

The economics of biomass conversion needs to be considered as well, for the production costs of biofuels typically amount to 60-120 per barrel of oil equivalent. Influential factors include the cost of the biomass at the plant gate, the conversion efficiency, the scale of the process and the value of the product (e.g., fuel, electricity or chemicals). 

Polyarylates prepared from cyclohexyl-HQ (Ch-HQ) and PEC (Ch-HQ/PEC) did not show liquid crystallinity due to the more bulky substituent on the HQ unit compared to those on f Bu-HQ and Ph-HQ. As-spun fibers of Ch-HQ/PEC exhibited lower moduli than those of fBu-HQ/PEC and Ph-HQ/PEC. Therefore, in order to obtain high-modulus as-spun fibers, the stability of the liquid crystalline state (7j — 7j,) is an influential factor, as shown in Table 19.1. 

Thus, both the rigidity and packing density of the polymer chain seem to be more influential factors than the F-values in achieving a high modulus of injection molded specimens. Figure 19.10 shows the variation of the flexural moduli as a function of the F-values for various substituted-HQs/BB and substituted HQs/BB modified with DHB, HQ, 2,6-dihydroxynaphthalene (DHN), NDA, Cl-PEC and TA [31,32], We could find no relationship between them. 

Thus, the influential factors in obtaining high moduli for injection molded specimens are as follows (1) the stability of the liquid crystalline state, (2) the rigidity of the polymer chain, and (3) the packing density of the polymer chain. 

For joint action in innovation systems and especially also for outlining the framework conditions by the political actors, it is expedient to understand the itmovation systems. The model developed in the scope of the project serves to create a systematic hnk between the framework conditions, the influential factors and the correlations between the participants. The various contributory parties can better assess their own options for influence, existing resistance to new ideas, possible coahtions or the significance of market trends, and can approach change processes in a more purposeful way as a resrrlt of this. 

It was endeavoured to put into operation the induetive and deductive abstrae-tion or generalisation movements mentioned at the start with the aid of these evaluation strategies in the ease studies. This was done, among other reasons, in order to formulate generalisable findings (also by means of relational comparisons), which would not have been obtained solely from the inductive generalisation of the case studies. On the basis of that, at least a rough approach for the type eharaeterisation of innovative systems was developed. In the final analysis, the aim was actually to be able to formulate (very eautious ) expectations (forecasts would certainly be too mueh) about the probable direetion of irmovation, iimova-tion level and the diffusion rate of iimovative solutions in these irmovation systems on the basis of determinable system constellations and identifiable main influential factors. ...

It is difficult to make generalisations. Distinctions are required depending on the market and constellation of actors in the supply chains, however some influential factors can be specified which increase the incidence of innovation ... 

Framework conditions, impulses and influential factors affect the value networks externally (state, public). These include both legal and market structures and impnlses. 

Employing sodium and potassium salts instead of hthium the corresponding cis-trans-compounds are obtained as main product. Temperature and solvent are also influential factors in the stereochemical outcome. 

Here again certain trends were observed, and the most influential factor was the crystal structure which the superconducting material adopted. The most fruitful system was the NaCl-type structure (also referred to as the B1 structure by metallurgists). Many of the important superconductors in this ceramic class are based on this common structure, or one derived from it. Other crystal structures of importance for these ceramic materials include the Pu2C3 and MoB2 (or ThSi2) prototypes. A plot of transition temperature versus the number of valence electrons for binary and ternary carbides shows a broad maximum at 5 electrons per atom, with a Tc maximum at 13 K.

A large consumer sensory test conducted at the 1965 World s Fair in New York (16) involving several different orange juices of varying quality attributes, including color, showed that color was one of the most influential factors in juice preference. 

Many physiological aspects affect drug absorption from the rectum (Table 7.1). Influential factors include the pH of the rectal contents, state of the mucus layer, volume and viscosity of rectal fluid, luminal pressure from the rectal wall on the dosage form, enzymatic and microbacterial degradation by rectal epithelium, presence of stools, and venous drainage differences within the rectosigmoid regions.
