Industrial Air Conditioning Systems

Room air conditioning (see Fig. 2.1) systems are used to control the main controlled zone. Systems can be divided into subsystems, e.g.  [Pg.10]

Note Air distribution systems are not ventilation or air conditioning systems. For example, mixing air distribution and displacement air distribution are methods to bring the supply air to the treated space. [Pg.10]

Discharge systems are used to discharge exhaust air to the outdoors in such a way that harmful spreading of pollutants to the environment and back indoors is avoided. [Pg.10]

Local ventilation systems (see Fig. 2.2) are used for local controlled zones. These systems are air technological methods for local protection. Primarily, local protection should be made using process methods such as encapsulation or process modification (see Design Methodology, Chapter 3). Another use for local ventilation systems is source capturing. [Pg.11]

To create unidirectional airflow field over the rootn area by supply air [Pg.12]

In industrial air-conditioning systems, harmful environmental gases, vapors, dusts, and fumes are often encountered. These contaminants can be controlled by exhaust systems at the source, by dilution ventilation, or by a combination of the two methods. When exhaust... [Pg.1104]

LiBr finds use as a desiccant in industrial air conditioning systems. [Pg.258]

Acid cleaners based on sulfamic acid are used in a large variety of appHcations, eg, air-conditioning systems marine equipment, including salt water stills wells (water, oil, and gas) household equipment, eg, copper-ware, steam irons, humidifiers, dishwashers, toilet bowls, and brick and other masonry tartar removal of false teeth (50) dairy equipment, eg, pasteurizers, evaporators, preheaters, and storage tanks industrial boilers, condensers, heat exchangers, and preheaters food-processing equipment brewery equipment (see Beer) sugar evaporators and paper-mill equipment (see also Evaporation Metal surface treati nts Pulp). [Pg.64]

Small refrigerators were developed by several companies and some were even installed in hotel rooms in Chicago. Borg-Wamer and other companies produced many compact systems for laboratory uses (23). Air-Industry in Erance built an air conditioning system for a passenger railway coach that was stiH in daily use after 10 years of operations without a single thermoelectric failure (24). [Pg.509]

Applications of heat exchangers include air conditioning systems and car/ truck radiators, but they are also widely employed in the process industry whenever there is a need for cooling or heating up a process fluid. [Pg.114]

Nowadays, rotor-type dehumidification and air-conditioning systems are spotlighted and begin to be industrialized, because the systems don t use CFCs which are known to be representative chemicals destroying an ozone layer in earth. Generally, silica gel is used as a dehumidifier in the dehumidification and air-cooling rotor. Therefore, it is important to improve the dehumidification efficiency of silica desiccant in this field. [Pg.381]

Biobrom. Pead Sea Bromine] 2,2 Dibromo-3-nitriloprqpionami(te biocide for industrial water systems, pulp and paper effluents, oil-recovery systems, metal-cutting coolants, air conditioning systems. [Pg.50]

The primary application of silica gel is as a drying agent. Packets of silica gel are found in many consumer products, such as electronic equipment, hardware tools, clothing, CD and DVD discs, and foodstuffs. Because of its ability to adsorb moisture from the surrounding air, silica gel prevents rust and other forms of oxidation. Silica gel also has similar applications in industry. For example, it is used to dry compressed air, air conditioning systems, and natural gas. The compound is also used to bleach petroleum oils and as an anti-caking agent for cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. [Pg.698]
