INDEX emergency response

The Dow indexes are useful for determining equipment spacing requirements. The F EI uses an empirical correlation based entirely on the F EI value to estimate the radius of exposure. It is assumed that any equipment located outside this distance would not be damaged by a fire or explosion. The CEI estimates the hazard distance for chemical exposure based on the emergency response planning guideline (ERPG) values for the particular material released. 

The provision that the documentation does not have to be retained in a separate file..reduces the amount of effort needed to meet this requirement. However, it also means that a comprehensive indexing system will be required. It is a good idea to keep critical documents that may be urgently needed (generally to do with emergency response) on p er as well as electronically. Then, if there is a total power failure, that information stiU remains accessible.

Therapy, to be effective, depends upon administration of an adequate number of platelets, generally 5 X 10 in a 70 kg man or a 60 kg woman given over 15 minutes - with suitable adjustment for body surface area in children.
