Index classification

The classification given in this article maintains the backbone of the Colour Index classification, but attempts to simplify and update it. This is done by showing the stmctural interrelationships of dyes that are given separate classes by the Colour Index, and the classification is chosen to highlight some of the more recent discoveries in dye chemistry (4). 

These contain most of the dyes and intermediates on chemistry and technology, but in general are more difficult to access than books and journals. Dyes are classified under Section E2 of Derwents Wodd Patents Index Classification. 

The values of the factors are determined on the basis of the Dow s Fire Explosion Hazard Index Classification Guide (Dow, 1987). The Guide includes rules and tables, which cover well the most chemical substances and unit operations. 

A major objective of this chapter is to outline the principal system by which colorants are classified, namely the widely accepted Colour Index classification. After tracing the developments from which this system has evolved [12,13], the distribution of existing dyes and pigments among the various classes listed therein will be introduced. Each of these classes will be discussed in turn, illustrated by structural formulae. 

Oil viscosity index classification Using Table 1 (Appendix) and Chapter 2.5 as references, write viscosity index values for winter and summer engine oils. 

The Hausner ratio varies from about 1.2 for a free-flowing powder to 1.6 for cohesive powders. Carr index classifications for flowability [2] are listed in Table 15.

The role of terminology in establishing alphabetical indexes in defining the subjects or ideas used to group information when fixed classification schemes are used and in defining concepts which are indicated physically on punched cards is discussed. Advantages and disadvantages of alphabetical indexes, classification systems, and punched cards are enumerated. 

I erminology and nomenclature serve science and technology in a variety of ways, of which the most obvious are the communication and recording of information. Equally important is the use of scientific and technical terms as building blocks for constructing indexes, classification systems, and codes for mechanical searching.

The results of the largest span without supporting in different strata and allowable hydraulic radius are obtained based on the revised NGI tunnel quality index classification. 

The CASTOR-system is a system for the documentation of chemical reactions. It relies on a procedure of non-prejudiced coding, indexing, classification, storage and retrieval of reaction and structure information. Its conceptual and mathematical basis is the algebraic model of chemical structure of J. Dugundji and I. Ugi, the DU-model (see next section).
