Patients are likely to have laboratory test abnormalities for the risk factors for IHD, such as elevated total and low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol, low high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol, impaired fasting glucose or elevated glucose concentration, high blood pressure, and elevated C-reactive protein.
