Imaging polarimetric

A number of other enhancements to the active holographic imaging technique have also been developed. These include the development of preliminary techniques for automated detection, the use of polarimetric properties of the imaging target, and other techniques [37-39],... [Pg.244]

In this chapter we overview (1) the progress in telescopic and spacecraft observations of the opposition effects of some atmosphereless celestial bodies and (2) the problems in understanding the photometric and polarimetric properties of planetary regoliths at small phase angles. Since several reviews of photometric and polarimetric observations of the Moon, Mars, asteroids, and planetary satellites have been published [34-36], we focus on findings related predominantly to imaging photometry and polarimetiy of planetary surfaces with spacecraft and telescopic techniques. We consider also recent results concerning photometric and polarimetric observations of minor planets. [Pg.194]

The data represented here should be viewed as a conservative estimate of the sensitivity of the INTEGRAL Imager. Methods of preferential event selection, with the aim of increasing the polarimetric modulation factor are currently under investigation. It is believed that with these analysis methods the sensitivity can be improved by at least a factor of two. [Pg.270]

This instrument provided photometric, polarimetric, and spectrophotometry over the entire wavelength range of ISO. Small arrays of Si Ga, Si B, and Ge Gadetectors also provided limited imaging capabilities. The main role of ISOPHOT was to provide accurate photometry of sources. It included an internal chopper and several calibration sources. [Pg.158]

Abstract. In some interpretations, the onset of a high vdodty molecular outflow signals the end of the Class I stage of pre-main-sequence stellar life and marks an evolutionary period after whidi a Class II pre-main-sequence star remains. Since all but a handful of the hundreds of known molecular outflow sources are associated with Class I sources, this interpretation appears reasonable. The handful of more evolved Class II sources that apparently drive outflows are exceptions, hi our infrared, polarimetric imaging program, we have made serendipitous discoveries that indicate the number of Class II sources that drive outflows may now be smaller by at least two than was previously thought. [Pg.121]
