OrthoPilot, image-free, wireless navigation system is currently used in our institutes. The latest version, OrthoPilot ACL version 3.0, has been adapted to include double-bundle ACL reconstruction.

Other navigation systems may also use intraoperative acquisition of images (Woodard et al. 2001 Haberland et al. 2000). These systems are consequently able to reflect the intraoperative changes. 

Many VR systems opt instead to use a standard computer screen as an interface into the virtual world. Using this system, standard computer peripherals such as the joystick and the mouse can be used to navigate around the world and interact with it. Larger monitors make the experience more immersive, and the use of projectors to display very large images allows a number of people to be involved at the same time. This has been found to be an attractive compromise to many end users, made more appealing by the ready availability of existing personal computers and peripheral devices.

This is particularly ironic in light of the fact that HyperCard has many features that make it especially appropriate for public access, including its connectivity and potential ease of use. Unfortunately, the relationship between the image of some of CAMEO s icons and the action performed by the stacks they represent is so abstract that they hinder, rather than help, the new user in navigating purposefully through the system of stacks.
