Carl Zeiss, Inc. also describes a spectrofluorometer system for process monitoring," but it does not currently appear as a standard marketed product on their web site. HORIBA Jobin Yvon also markets a fluorescent process analyzer, but it is a laser-induced time-domain based measurement system tailored for uranium or equivalent analysis." Finally, while numerous miniature spectrofluorometers are also available (Carl Zeiss, StellarNet Inc., Ocean Optics and Avantes), they are not packaged and configured for process applications. Although there is an established need and continued growing interest in realtime process spectrofluorometry, relative to conventional process spectroscopic instruments such as NIR, UV-vis and Raman, commercial process spectrofluorometers are currently available on a very limited basis. [Pg.344]

Horiba Jobin Yvon has an interesting portable instrument on the market called SkinScan (Figure 8.8). It is an in-vivo, fibre optic spectrofluorometer designed specifically to acquire fluorescence measurements directly from skin or hair. The fibre optic bundle transmits UV-NIR radiation to the sample and then collects the resulting fluorescence. Results are used to investigate the age and health of skin, and to evaluate sunscreens and cosmetics among other applications. [Pg.207]

Twin Cond is a conductivity meter, available from HORIBA Jobin Yvon, which features a waterproof flat sensor. Twin Cond can measure the conductivity of a solution from a single drop of sample and is therefore very suitable for both field measurements in rivers and lakes and for rain samples. It features a measurement range from 1 p,S/cm to 19.9 mS/cm. It also has one-touch auto-calibration, automatic temperature conversion and a salinity conversion function (from 0-1.1 %). Multiparameter meters can test for pH, conductivity, total dissolved solids and temperature in the one device. [Pg.210]

HORIBA Jobin Yvon produces two Raman process analysers, the RPA-HE and the RPA-AX. They provide coverage from 150-3200 cm They both have no moving parts and use an air-cooled CCD detector. They can be conhgured with lasers at 532, 633, 785 and 830nm (only the RPA-AX). The main difference between the two systems is that the RPA-HE system can obtain multiplexed information from up to four hbre probes simultaneously while RPA-AX can be multiplexed to up to 64 separate channels of information. They are used in the semiconductor industry and for polymer characterisation and pharmaceutical manufacturing. [Pg.240]

The analysis was performed with a new state-of-the-art UV-VIS Raman spectrometer (Horiba-Jobin Yvon Labram-HR) equipped with a notch filter to reject the Rayleigh scattering, a single monochromator stage, and a CCD detector cooled to 140 K. The excitation source is 325 nm and 545 nm from an He-Cd laser (Kimmon) and the scattered photons are directed and focused onto a single monochromator (LabRam HR Jobin Yvon). A UV-sensitive LN CCD detector (Spex) is used to collect the signal. The laser power employed on the sample is only 0.2 mW, with a collection time of 40 s. [Pg.78]

Fig. 15.10 Fluorescence decays for a polythiophene derivative in toluene solution at 293 K and in thin film. The dashed lines in the decays are the pulse instrumental response functions in solution (obtained with a Ludox solution) and in the solid state (obtained with a blank sapphire disc inside the Horiba-Jobin-Yvon integrating sphere). Autocorrelation functions (AC.), weighted residuals and Chi square values (x ) are also present as insets. Reproduced with permission from Ref. [49], Copyright 2007, the American Chemical Society... With this equipment solid-state fluorescence decays can also be measured with samples in a Horiba-Jobin-Yvon integrating sphere [49]. For these experiments the pulse profile, at the excitation wavelength, is obtained by collecting the pulse... [Pg.555]

The (IR) spectrometer is separated from the matrix chamber by a rotatable disk that contains three windows, CaFj, Csl, and high-density polyethylene, which can be chosen according to the desired spectral region. Raman and luminescence spectra can be recorded by a T64000 Raman spectrometer (Horiba Jobin Yvon). [Pg.32]
