The next example was a post on the Hive by a bee named TaRa (Could be an alias of TDK. Strike ain t sure.). It is essentially the same old song except this girl proved that CuCl2 (cupric chloride) can indeed be used in place of CuCl (cuprous chloride). It also gives you more examples of technique. The more of this one has the more confident they will be in their understanding of the method. [Pg.71]

Well, that should be enough examples to give you a good idea of how this Wacker oxidation method works. There are a lot more interesting variations that bees have been posting on the Hive if you wish to read more. [Pg.75]

This is a new post in the Hive, I ve performed a new reaction [she s just kidding foiksl] with the new experience, with is much better than the other. Darkness part is extraction (yes, a lot of dark... [Pg.83]

Nicotinamide can also be toxic to cells at concentrations that increase the NAD levels above normal. Individuals consuming nicotinamide at levels of 3 g/d for extended periods (3—36 months) have experienced various side effects such as heartburn, nausea, headaches, hives, fatigue, sore throat, dry hair, and tautness of the face (1). [Pg.53]

By 1967, the flood of short papers had become so great that a separate journal, Scripta Metallurgica, was hived off. These Latin titles were intended to symbolise the international character of the journal. Chalmers edited the journal until 1974, when Michael Ashby took over the reins which he held until 1995 at that point a more collegiate editorial structure was instituted. In 1990, the adjective "metalliirgica was supplemented by "materialia, and in 1996 the journals simply became Acta materialia and Scripta materialia (some classicist seems to have advised the board of governors, at a late stage, that lower case letters are de rigueur in Latin )... [Pg.515]

We have seen that much is known about the structure of the atom. A small nucleus containing protons and neutrons accounts for most of the mass of the atom. Electrons occupy the space around the nucleus like bees around a hive. In the electrically neutral atom, the number of electrons is equal to the number of protons. [Pg.252]

Notify the primary health care provider immediately if any one or more of the following occurs vomiting, skin rash, hives (urticaria), severe diarrhea, vaginal or anal itching, sores in the mouth, swelling around the mouth or eyes, breathing difficully... [Pg.80]

Acetaminophen causes few adverse reactions when used as directed on the label or recommended by the primary health care provider. Adverse reactions associated with the use of acetaminophen usually occur with chronic use or when the recommended dosage is exceeded. Adverse reactions to acetaminophen include skin eruptions, urticaria (hives), hemolytic anemia, pancytopenia (a reduction in all cellular components of the blood), hypoglycemia, jaundice (yellow discoloration of the skin), hepatotoxicily (damage to the liver), and hepatic failure (seen in chronic alcoholics taking the drug). [Pg.153]

Frequently seen adverse reactions to dragp with anticholinergic activity include dry mouth, blurred vision, dizziness, mild nausea, and nervousness. These may become less pronounced as therapy progresses. Other adverse reactions may include skin rash, urticaria (hives), urinary retention, dysuria, tachycardia, muscle weakness, disorientation, and confusion. If any of these reactions are severe, the drug may be discontinued for several days and restarted at a lower dosage, or a different antiparkinsonism drag may be prescribed. [Pg.268]

It is also important that the nurse monitor for any indication of hypersensitivity reaction. The nurse reports reactions, such as chills, fever, or hives, to die primary health care provider. When heparin is given to prevent the formation of a thrombus, the nurse observes the patient for signs of thrombus formation every 2 to 4 hours. Because the signs and symptoms of dirombus formation vary and depend on the area or organ involved, die nurse should evaluate and report any complaint die patient may have or any change in die patient s condition to die primary health care provider. [Pg.426]

The nurse must continually assess the patient for anaphylactic reactions (difficulty breathing, wheezing, fever, swelling around the eyes, hives, or itching) particularly with anistreplase or streptokinase Resuscitation equipment is immediately available... [Pg.430]

A useful analogy for understanding the value of contour surfaces is a swarm of bees around a hive. At any one time, some bees will be off foraging for nectar, so a contour surface drawn around all the bees might cover several acres. This would not be a very useful map of bee density. A contour surface containing 90% of the bees, on the other hand, would be just a bit bigger than the hive itself This would be a very useful map of bee density, because anyone inside that contour surface would surely interact with bees. [Pg.476]
