Bisphenol F epoxy resins are used in high-soHds-high-build systems such as tank and pipe linings, industrial floors, road and bridge deck toppings, stmctural adhesives, grouts, coatings, and electrical varnishes. Bisphenol F epoxy resins are manufactured in Europe and Japan. 

Chlorinated rubber paints and vinyl paints have excellent resistance to high concentrations of acids and alkalis at temperatures up to 80°C. High-build chlorinated rubber paints, which give a thickness of 0.12 mm per coat are commonly used for process plant equipment.

Solvent-free high-build floor paints are available which can be readily applied with brush, roller or spray to a prepared concrete substrate to give a thickness of 0.10-0.20 mm per coat. For an adequate barrier against moisture, sufficient thickness of paint must be applied. The modern trend is to apply high-build coatings based on media having high intrinsic water resistance. Such paints may be pigmented with corrosion inhibitors or minerals which impede the flow of moisture through the film.

At the local level, air pollution concerns a region within a 5-km radius.
