Heat Resistant Column

Practically all types of plastics are used (literally from seats to the outside shells), and in many cases required in all methods of transportation such as, automotive, railroad, buses, trucks, trailers, boats, submarines. [Pg.502]

C-L. Scott, The Sensitivity of Selected Conventional and Heat Resistant Explosives at Low Temperatures", NOLTR 70—36 (1970), reviewed by G. Cohn, Edit in Expls- Pyrots 4(6), 1971 (The effects of temp, confinement, and column diam on the shock... [Pg.336]

All the obstacles in the path of distillation progress, however, were not equipment fabrication and design problems. It was discovered very early in the running of sour crudes that the shell still corroded severely at the vapor-liquid interface line and in that portion of the shell in contact with vapors. At the same time severe corrosion in pipe stills and tube stills, along with overheating and coking, resulted in expensive equipment failures. These problems started metallurgists on a chain of developments which produced the corrosion- and heat-resistant alloys used in modern oil heaters and the alloy liners used in distillation columns. [Pg.204]

The stationary phases coated on the inert supports are similar in the two classes of columns. Liquids of different polarities are chosen for the separation of non-polar or polar compounds a relatively small number of solvents, chemically inert and heat resistant, are sufficient for most residue analyses. The most commonly used for organophosphorus compounds vary from low-polarity hydrocarbons, methylsilicones, phenylsilicones, phenylmethylsilicones or carboranesiloxanes 165 168 175 178 180 182 184 192,195,197,198,... [Pg.369]

Gas Chromatographic Columns. Two heat-resistant glass columns, A and B, % inch nominal o.d. (1.5 mm. i.d., 3 mm. o.d.) and 5 feet long, are used. Column A is packed with 60-70 mesh acid-washed Chromosorb G, coated by weight with 0.15% Carbowax 20M (a polyethylene glycol) and with 1.5% DC 200 (12,500 centistokes) silicone fluid Column B is packed with 60-70 mesh acid-washed Chromosorb G, coated by weight with 0.10% Carbowax 20M and with 1.0% QF-1 fluorosilicone (also called FS 1265). [Pg.196]

Tremolite asbestos A special form of the amphibole mineral, tremolite, that displays separable, long, thin fibers often arranged in parallel in a column or in matted masses. The fibers are generally strong enough and flexible enough to be spun and woven, are heat resistant, and are chemically inert. [Pg.391]

The deodorized coconut oil flows down to the drop tank and holding chamber of the distilling column. Residence time in the deodorizer ranges from 1.5 h to 2 h. The oil from the column is withdrawn by a hermetically sealed and heat-resistant pump and conveyed to the economizer, which preheats the incoming deodorizer feedstock. The oil is cooled down to 50°C, at which temperature citric acid is added. Citric acid enhances the stability of oil by immobilizing iron and copper, which are pro-oxidants. (Note The deodorization step is omitted in the production of Cochin oil.)... [Pg.776]

Absorption towei. Heat-resistant glass inside diameter, 4.094 inches 4 feet long. Column cross section, 0.09152 sq. foot. Packed with 1/4-inch Intalox saddles... [Pg.75]

This is a light sensitive polymer (X max. 265 nm), but it has high heat resistance. For this reason, pyrolysis was performed at 850° C in He. Other conditions were kept similar to those for other examples previously described in this book (see Table 4.2.2). The separation was done on a Carbowax column. The pyrogram is shown in Figure 13.4.1. The peak identification was done using MS spectral library searches only and is given in Table 13.4.3. [Pg.620]

In newly equipped wells the liners of the casing column near the casing shoes should be made of heat resistant materials. The regulation of bottomhole temperature is easier when electric heaters are used than it is with flame heaters. So, when shallow oil-bearing beds are to be ignited with the help of electric heaters, one can use ordinary materials for bottomhole construction (Fig. 65a). [Pg.126]

To protect the casing from effects of high temperature, special liners were installed in the wells opposite the bottom section of the casing column. They consisted of heat resistant tubing,... [Pg.150]
