Graphic Arts films

The use of high purity selenium in digital imaging is considered a potential market. Selenium-based plates can be used to replace conventional silver-based x-ray film, and in 1994 the Xerox Corporation introduced a selenium-based product, Verdefilm, for use in graphic arts appHcations. 

Triacetate film is used in the graphic arts, for greetings cards, and for specialised electrical applications such as non-conducting separators. 

So off I went to tackle this new assignment. I wondered if there were sufficient stock footage in the Graphic Arts files to make a coherent six-minute film. I looked at it all, and saw that there were plenty of good clips to work with. 

So that was how we ended up with a specially constructed 16 x 20 foot enclosure in the Graphic Arts Department film studio. From an adjacent room we could watch the volunteers behavior on closed circuit TV, planning to step in only if necessary to prevent injury. It was the most realistic military environment we could concoct without creating unacceptable risks.

Photographic emulsions. These are very commonly used, the silver halide emulsions are coated on glass or transparent polymer film. The emulsions, which involve the use of ultrafine grain size silver halide, are available for response to a range of laser wavelengths. This is the mainstay method in graphics art outlets.

Silicone-coated papers and films find their application in many areas where release of an adhesive is needed. By far the biggest application can be found in the label industry. Other applications can be found in graphic art and in hygiene applications, e.g. in diaper tapes. Another big area where these products can be found is that of bakery and food, in which silicone-coated paper can give release against bakery products or act as grease-proof wrapping paper. 

Use Electrical and electronic component industries, protective equipment, graphic arts and photographic film, cable wrapping and protective overlays for other thermoplastic sheeting, missile applications.
