Geodynamics

In the several versions of their models, Doe and Zartman (1979) and Zartman and Haines (1988) have plotted curves to show the Pb isotopic evolution of the four reservoirs with time. A plot of vs ° Pb/ Pb discriminates well [Pg.263]

Geodynamics Correlations between isotopic tracers has led to a search for an explanation of these phenomena and has given rise to a series of tectonic models for the chemical structure of the Earth. These models are constrained both by the isotopic data and GOT present understanding of plate tectonic processes. [Pg.263]

In a similar way the isotopic composition of crust and mantle reservoirs have been interpreted by means of a series of mass balance equations between crust, mantle and the original composition of the bulk silicate Earth. This has allowed us to explore the interrelationships between different reservoirs, set limits on the proportion of mande involved in the formation of the continental crust and offer insights into the nature of mantle convection (AUegre et a/., 1983a,b AUegre, 1987  [Pg.264]

Generally, a distance of approximately 200 km of the Trans Caucasian main gas pipeline is considered a dangerous zone in terms of geodynamic events. Currently the complex geodynamic conditions are observed at the river Amala, Baidar and the Kuro area (in the Kazbegi region), where intense erosion and mudflow occurrences are present. [Pg.248]

Geodynamic Condition Melioration caused swamping and clay soil settlement procedures are present here. Intensive physical weathering and depth erosion is present here Physical weathering is intensive, with landslides, talus and other gravitational developments Intensive weathering. With landslides, erosion and other developments can be observed here. [Pg.258]

Elevation predictions from tectonic models alone only provide simple guidance because topography is the product of complex reactions among climate, erosion and tectonics. Paleoelevation techniques discussed in this volume measure different aspects either directly or indirectly of topography some techniques are sensitive to local elevation, some to relief, and some rely on proxies of environmental variables. Future directions may include measurement of different variables of the tectonic-climate-erosion system independently from one another and understanding the interaction between them. From these relationships, directly or indirectly, the geodynamic processes may be further constrained. [Pg.16]
