Generation limiting

Both characteristic X-ray line and continuous spectra were used to evaluate the performances of the resists. To determine exposure parameters (i.e. sensitivity and contrast) irradiations were carried gut in this study using the aluminum Kot- 2 emission line at 8.3t A generated by means of a modified Vacuum Generators Limited model EG-2 electron beam evaporation gun. The resist samples were exposed through a mask (A) consisting of a range of aluminum foils of different thicknesses supported on an absorbing nickel frame in order to vary the X-ray flux. [Pg.279]

Several other types of backbone modification have also been proposed, which produce nuclease-resistant oligos. Of these, a-oligos have been extensively studied. In a-oligos the base is transposed from the natural P-orientation to the unnatural a-orientation to form a parallel duplex with target sequence. This parallel duplex is nuclease-resistant, but does not elicit RNase H activity (Cazenave et al., 1989). These modifications have generated limited interest and application in antisense research. [Pg.35]

Unlike that of linear polymers, the intrinsic viscosity of dendrimers does not increase linearly (Fig. 1.15) with molar mass, but reaches a maximum at a certain generation (limiting generation), only to decrease again at high generations... [Pg.11]

Uniform preillumination is discussed in the literature in two different time regimes. Fast diffraction response is obtained from materials which are illuminated uniformly and intensely for a few seconds before a second writing beam is used to pattern the intensity in the material and begin hologram formation. This maximizes the mobile hole density in the material at the time of hologram formation and helps to reach the charge generation limit of Eq. (1). [Pg.3665]

The diazirines are the best source of dialkoxycarbenes in practice side products are not formed on reaction with alkenes. However, their explosive properties and the decidedly nucleophilic character of the carbenes they generate, limits the diazirine route for the preparation of 1,1-dialkoxycyclopropanes. On the other hand, the diazirine method is ideal for physicochemical... [Pg.773]

With regard to the role of nonlinear feedback control, periodic behaviour was illustrated in fig. 11.7 for a repression function characterized by a Hill coefficient of 4 however, a value of 2 or 1 for that cooperativity coefficient can also give rise to sustained oscillations. The cooperativity of repression provides a major source of nonlinearity required for sustained oscillatory behaviour. This is the reason why steep thresholds due to zero-order ultrasensitivity are not required here to generate limit cycle oscillations (see the relatively large values of the reduced Michaelis constants K, used in fig. 11.7), in contrast to the situation encountered for the phosphorylation-dephosphorylation cascade model analysed for the mitotic oscillator. [Pg.489]

Even for print-on-fly method in which printing occurs while printhead is in motion, the way office printers works, the effective dispensing rate can be far below the maximum. If the distance between the printing sites is large (e.g., >200 pm), translational speed limits may be encountered before drop generation limits are encountered. [Pg.216]

NH2 end groups in polar solvents such as D2O and MeOH behave very similarly, and for other types of solvents and end groups it is difBcult to draw any general conclusions. " For PAMAM dendrimers, the generational limit is reached at generation 4/ and for phosphoms-based dendrimers a dear maximum is reached at generation... [Pg.143]
