Most of the possible toxic effects from ozone in gas can also occur when using liquid ozone, due to the potential risk of it gassing-out. Consequently, liquid ozone has a strong odor and should always be used in closed piping and vessels. 

Purchase a good air purifier, so you will breathe purified air inside your own home. To make air purifiers most effective, however, it is also necessary to remove the things that are making you ill. The air purifier itself also needs to be tested to see if you can tolerate it. Ask to bring a device home for a tryout. Realize that even a specifically MCS-safe air purifier must first be gassed out for a while and that you should run the device in another room for a period of time be-... 

The system was not specifically designed for MCS and thus needs to gas out for quite a long time. The hose especially takes a while, but with patience it can be gassed out quite well.

New cables and recently coated fittings can cause problems. Always keep some old or gassed-out cables, fittings and wires in your shed or storage area often it can take months before a new cable is properly gassed out. An alternative is to wrap the cable with aluminum foil tape see entry 149. 

Most new construction materials are not safe for use by MCS patients because they contain chemical substances and release gases. Before you start building or renovating, research your options and seek advice from experts in the field. In some situations it may be best to choose recycled construction materials after all, these materials have usually already gassed out. If you have to purchase a new clothes dryer, make sure to first let it run in another room or in a shed before bringing it into your home. It s probably better to buy an air dryer whereby the air is taken outside through a flexible tube, as opposed to a condensation dryer, whereby the air is blown into the room. Especially with a new machine that has not been gassed out, it s best to prevent the chemical vapors released when the dryer runs from being blown into your home.

New carpets, laminate, parquet, vinyl, and so on are not suitable for MCS patients, because the varnishes, glues, synthetic substances, formaldehyde and other chemical substances can cause severe problems. Gassing out these chemicals can take months if not years. It s therefore best to play it safe and go with materials that are less harmful, such as organically produced cotton. An untreated hardwood floor or other hard floor coverings, like stone, ceramic or porcelain tile, are also good options. Make sure you do not react to the specific wood by first testing a sample thoroughly ... 

These masks can be found in hardware stores or online shops and are safe for use once they have been properly gassed out. They are not immediately safe because they are made using rubber, silicone and other synthetic substances. But, once they are out-gassed, all you have to do is screw on the filter and it s ready to go. Wearing these masks for a long time is not comfortable, so if it gets to the point where...

A new sofa should be thoroughly gassed out for months in a room the MCS patient does not have to enter. When possible, choose sofas made using natural and chemical-free materials. This will shorten the gassing-out period or even make it unnecessary. 

Try to avoid new synthetic materials as much as possible, or always let them thoroughly gas out before taking them into use. In theory, all materials can be gassed out. How long this process takes depends on the product. Generally speaking, hard materials are safe for use sooner than softer synthetic materials. 

It s safest to travel in your own gassed-out safe car, a gassed-out trailer or your own tailor-made RV. While on the road, it s a good idea to push the air-conditioning recycle button while in busy areas, so no exhaust fumes enter inside. Using a mobile air purifier is really a must.
