Dutch Studies. In a study examining emissions from MSW incinerators operating in the Netherlands, a number of emission types were measured acid, gases, organics, particulates, CO, etc.20 The relationship between particulate and PCDD/F emissions was tested. In presenting a plot of these emissions, the report stated that no really clear correlations emerge. ... [Pg.163]

Table II gives a general description of the program features such as total number of elements, aqueous species, gases, organic species, redox species, solid species, pressure and temperature ranges over which calculations can be made, an indication of the types of equations used for computing activity coefficients, numerical method used for calculating distribution of species and the total number of iterations required by these models for each of the two test cases. The chemical analyses for the two test cases are summarized in Table III. The seawater compilation was prepared in several units to assure consistency between concentrations for proper entry into the aqueous models. Generally all plastic films are water-repellent (water-resistant). Various degrees of barrier are offered against water vapour permeation, gases (organic and inorganic), oils, solvents, aromatics, preservatives, etc. All films, if free of pinholes, provide a barrier to moulds, bacteria, etc., i.e. are a hygiene barrier. [Pg.266]

Nonelectrolytes—dissolved gases, organic molecules, neutral ion pairs, and undissociated weak acids and bases—are also nonideal soiutes in water and are-common constituents of soil solutions. Their activities also vary nonlinearly with concentration, particularly at high concentrations. The activity coefficients of nonelectrolytes at low concentrations are approximated by... [Pg.79]

In previously reported tests (3), yields have been classified as gases, organic liquids, char and product water. Mass balances were generally close to 95% or better. Elemental analyses were also reported for many runs, but identification of individual compounds was done only for non-condensable gases and for some volatile organics such as methanol, acetaldehyde, furan, etc. However, more detailed analyses of liquid products have recently been carried out, and some of these preliminary results which are of particular significance are reported here. [Pg.168]
