There are other milder forms of thederiasis that resemble the disease caused by T parva infection. They also primarily affect catde and are transmitted by ticks. Causative organisms iaclude Theileria annulata responsible for tropical thieleriasis, tropical piroplasmosis, Egyptian fever, and Mediterranean Coast fever. These affect ox, zebu, and water buffalo. Endemic areas iaclude northern Africa, southeastern Europe, the southern part of the former USSR, and Asia. Theileria mutans is the cause of benign bovine thieleriasis, Marico calf disease, and mild gad sickness. It affects ox and zebu ia Africa, Asia, southern Europe, England, the former USSR, AustraUa, and North America. 

The NERC GADS ten-year review report for 1971-1980 on equipment availability presents statistical data sets on the performance of major types of electrical power generating units. Cumulative and unit.-year averages are calculated on such quantities as service hours, available hours, scheduled outage rate, mean time between full forced outages, shutdown because of economic reasons, and probability of outage. The number of start demands and successful starts are included. 

The ten-year review for 1971-1980 of the NERC GADS component cause code report documents all outages attributed to each of the component cause codes. 

Indeed, 5-HT is also a substrate for the 5-HT transporter, itself an important player in the treatment of depression, and more recently for the whole range of anxiety disorders spectrum (GAD, OCD, social and other phobias, panic and post-traumatic stress disorders). It is the target for SSRIs (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors) such as fluoxetine, paroxetine, fluvoxamine, and citalopram or the more recent dual reuptake inhibitors (for 5-HT and noradrenaline, also known as SNRIs) such as venlafaxine. Currently, there are efforts to develop triple uptake inhibitors (5-HT, NE, and DA). Further combinations are possible, e.g. SB-649915, a combined 5-HTia, 5-HT1b, 5-HT1d inhibitor/selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI), is investigated for the treatment of major depressive disorder. 

New questions have arisen in micro-scale flow and heat transfer. The review by Gad-el-Hak (1999) focused on the physical aspect of the breakdown of the Navier-Stokes equations. Mehendale et al. (1999) concluded that since the heat transfer coefficients were based on the inlet and/or outlet fluid temperatures, rather than on the bulk temperatures in almost all studies, comparison of conventional correlations is problematic. Palm (2001) also suggested several possible explanations for the deviations of micro-scale single-phase heat transfer from convectional theory, including surface roughness and entrance effects.

In Spite of the existence of numerous experimental and theoretical investigations, a number of principal problems related to micro-fluid hydrodynamics are not well-studied. There are contradictory data on the drag in micro-channels, transition from laminar to turbulent flow, etc. That leads to difficulties in understanding the essence of this phenomenon and is a basis for questionable discoveries of special microeffects (Duncan and Peterson 1994 Ho and Tai 1998 Plam 2000 Herwig 2000 Herwig and Hausner 2003 Gad-el-Hak 2003). The latter were revealed by comparison of experimental data with predictions of a conventional theory based on the Navier-Stokes equations. The discrepancy between these data was interpreted as a display of new effects of flow in micro-channels. It should be noted that actual conditions of several experiments were often not identical to conditions that were used in the theoretical models. For this reason, the analysis of sources of disparity between the theory and experiment is of significance.

The usually accepted prevalences for generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) are around 1.6% for current, 3.1% for 1 year and 5.1% lifetime (Roy-Byrne, 1996). The condition is twice as common in women as in men (Pigott, 1999). A small minority (10%) have GAD alone, and about the same proportion suffer from mixed anxiety and depression. Morbidity is high. About a half of those with uncomplicated GAD seek professional help, but two-thirds of those with comorbid GAD do so. Up to a half take medication at some point. The condition may coexist with other anxiety disorders such as phobias, with affective disorders, or with medical conditions such as unexplained chest pain and irritable bowel syndrome. 

If a substance is to be a NT it should be possible to demonstrate appropriate enzymes for its synthesis from a precursor at its site of action, although peptides are transported to their sites of location and action after synthesis in the axon or distal neuronal cell body. The specificity of any enzyme system must also be established, especially if they are to be modified to manipulate the levels of a particular NT, or used as markers for it. Thus choline acetyltransferase (ChAT) may be taken as indicative of ACh and glutamic acid decarboxylase (GAD) of GABA but some of the synthesising enzymes for the monoamines lack such specificity.
