Future Questions

Although great progress has been made in recent years, there is still a great deal to be discovered about TFIID. The functions of all the individual subunits need to be discovered, not only in the context of TFIID but also in other TAF-containing complexes. This task will be gready aided when a high-resolution structure of TFIID becomes available. There is still debate about which transcription events are supported by TFIID and which are TAF independent. Only when we understand how TFIID interacts with activators, chromatin, and the rest of the transcription machinery will all these questions be answered.

So how do you make sure you keep on a good pace The best strategy is to work on one question at a time. Don t worry about any future questions or any previous questions you had trouble with. Focus all your attention on the present question. Start with Question 1. If you determine an answer in less than a minute, mark it and move to Question 2. If you can t decide on an answer in less than a minute, take your best guess from the answer choices you haven t eliminated, circle the question, and move on. If you have time at the end of the section, you can look at the question again. But in the meantime, forget about it. Concentrate on Question 2.

In summary, the prospects of mechanistic-based modelling appear to be several years away. However, it is clear that global reaction models are already losing favor because of their inability to answer current and future questions. We may look back and see the Clean Air Act as the beginning of the need for molecule-based models, where the input and output has to be commensurate with the nature of the questions being asked. 

It is apparent that these complex future questions will require much more interaction between academic research and industry. The grand challenges in drug discovery require new types of interaction, networks, and clusters of knowledge. Chemical biology will not only be a major contributor but also a key driver. 

I address question two, the how to do inclusive relational-based leadership development, by presenting a process model for inclusive leadership development based on assessment, challenge, and support in the context of a climate of respect, equality, and fairness. I highlight inclusive leadership practices and provide practical examples. Finally, I conclude the chapter with a summary, as well as highlighting current dilemmas and future questions in the arena of inclusive leadership development. 

Note that all failure rates must be traceable to referenced source data. The rationale for each failure rate assignment, as well as any assumptions, must be documented for future maintenance of the FMEA and to assist in resolving any future questions.
