Fungicidal formulations

Calcium thiosulfate is not produced commercially in the United States. Uses include fungicide formulations (86), a noncorrosive concrete-set accelerator (87), and a catalyst for polyolefin manufacture (88). 

Amongst synthetic quinoxalines, numerous types of biological activity have been reported. 5,6,7,8-Tetrachloroquinoxaline (132) and related halogenated derivatives have found use in fungicidal formulations. Phosphoric esters of 6-hydroxyquinoxaline (133) have found use in insecticidal preparations, and phosphoric ester derivatives of 2-hydroxyquinoxalines, such as (134), function as anthelmintics. 

Method 1613 of US Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) was used for the PCDD detection in the objects of environment (water, soil etc.). PCDD detection was done with the help of Polaris Q gas chromatograph/ mass spectrometer on mass-spectrum of electronic impact in the MS-MS mode. Division of isomer PCDD was carried out on a capillary column from the sintered quartz DB-5 MS (60 m x 0,25 mm, thickness of tape 0,25 p.m). The same device was used for detection of fungicides formulations active ingredients in soil. 

Arsenic pentoxide is used to make colored glass in fungicide formulations in adhesive for metals in wood preservatives in dyeing and printing and to prepare arsenates. 

In the sawmill where the spraying application was used, a hundredfold enrichment of PCDFs was found in the sawdust in comparison to the chlorophenol content when compared to the composition of the fungicide formulation used (1 100 vs 1 10 0Q0). 

TCDD has no commercial uses but is found as a contaminant. TCDD is present in certain herbicide and fungicide formulations such as 1,4,5-T and in pentachlorophenols. As noted above, it is an unwanted contaminant created by incineration and was a contaminant in Agent Orange.

Tetrachloroquinoxaline (Chlorquinox) is the active compound in various fungicidal formulations (Chapter III) and Morestan (6) is used as an insecticide (Chapter VI).

The ALKAMULS AG surfactants are proprietary blends developed for use in agricultural applications. The ALKAMULS AG series is appropriate for use in herbicide, pesticide and fungicide formulations, and is suitable for the development of both concentrates and wettable powders. Residues of these surfactants are exempt from tolerance requirements under EPA Regulation 40 CFR 180 1001(d) when used in accordance with good agricultural practice as inert ingredients in formulations developed for growing crops. 

The use of this very remarkable compound to control wheat smut soon followed. Farmers also treated the seed of sorghum, onions, and other crops with HCB. The commercial fungicide formulations they used to do so typically contained 10-40% HCB. HCB also foimd various other uses, including as a component in pyrotechnics manufacture, synthetic rubber production, graphite electrode production, and the manufacture of other chemicals, including pentachlorophenol [85-87].
