FORTRAN language executable

FORTRAN statements also can be inserted by the user in the paragraph called FORTRAN. Using the DEFINE sentence, as before, any problem variables may be accessed. Using FORTRAN language, any arbitrary transformation of the problem variables may be made and stored. This extremely flexible capability allows the user to (1) modify block calculations, (2) change stream values, (3) insert user FORTRAN blocks, and (4) execute many other powerful, specific functions. A BEFORE or AFTER statement can be used to make the FORTRAN execution before or after any block. [Pg.294]

The ADAPT system currently consists of approximately sixty programs written in the FORTRAN language and meant to be executed interactively on a minicomputer or a larger timesharing computer. Development at Penn State has been on a MODCOMP 11/25 16-bit minicomputer with 65,000 16-bit words of core memory. The system has been designed and implemented to provide the user with all the capabilities necessary to perform SAR studies on sets of up to several hundred compounds at a time. [Pg.146]

Programming languages for the LCAP systems comprises traditional FORTRAN and FORTRAN-like directives which are interpreted by a precompiler developed in our laboratory. The directives provide syntactical constructs for interprocessor communication and synchronization. A detailed description of the implementation of our quantum chemistry package HONDO has been given elsewhere. (Dupuis, M. Watts, J. D. Theor. Chim. Acta, in press.) Our experience indicates that the calculations done in the study described above were executed in parallel at a very high level of efficiency. [Pg.160]

Linda ° is a memory model and a coordination language see Reference 9 for an introduction. Realizations of this model in C and FORTRAN are commercially available on many different platforms, including networks. The Linda memory is a tuple space, a tuple being an ordered collection of typed values. Tuples may be either passive or under evaluation (representing a thread of execution). [Pg.230]

This gave us the flexibility to implement these routines in the most convenient language. Where we felt that execution speed would not be impacted too badly, we opted to code in FORTRAN because of the greater ease of program maintenance. [Pg.519]

The compiler is the primary interface to the processor. High level languages like Fortran and C are translated into the level instructions that can be executed on the processor. Compiler optimization and instruction generation decisions can be influenced with compiler switches. These switches may correspond directly to individual modules for optimization, or influence settings of several modules. The compiler performs many optimizations on the source code based on various assumptions about the program. Typical assumptions are ... [Pg.1105]

SOLMINEQ.88 is a complete rewrite of SOLMNEQ. This is reflected in the programing language, the numerical techniques used and by a variety of new modeling options. SOLMINEQ.88 has been tested on a wide variety of FORTRAN-77 compilers and meets the ANSI Fortran-77 language standard. The speed of program execution has been increased and considerable effort has gone into program verification. [Pg.126]

The DATATRAN application language processor operates within the SCOPE operating system on the CDC 6600 and 7600 machines. It consists of six major components, each designed to perform a specific data management or executive system function all are written primarily in FORTRAN, but rely on assembly language routines for character manipulation and efficient input-output operations. The components and their associated system functions are the precompiler which scans each statement in the DATA-TRAN input stream and translates it, if necessary, into an acceptable FORTRAN statement the interpreter which contains the run-time routines to execute the DATATRAN statements, creates and maintains the system s... [Pg.301]

To represent the above-named Bingham viscosity in the simulation model the possibility to characterize Non-Newtonian fluids in the CFD-code is necessary. Most commercial CFD-Software allocate a so-called Power-Law-Model whereby (26) may be possibly specified. Otherwise the Bingham model has to be implemented in the actual internal expression language, e.g. an executive Fortran-Routine in ANSYS/FLOTRAN or a definition in the CFX-Expression Language (CEL). In either case it is inevitable for the CFD-code to have dynamic access to the (system-) variable for the shear strain rate y. [Pg.413]
