Food Mixers

Food mixers, processors and steamers are a mature subsector of the small domestic appliance market.

Polycarbonates have proved attractive in domestic appliances. Examples include food processor bowls, coffeemaker cold water reservoirs, vacuum cleaner housings, food mixer housings, power tool housings, hair drier and electric razor housings, and microwave cookware. 

What is actually needed is a test that rapidly differentiates between suitable and unsuitable flours. Making a test batter and mixing it on maximum speed in a food mixer is a fairly effective way of detecting those flours that will undergo gluten separation from those that will not. 

Domestic appliance housings, vacuum cleaners, small appliances, food mixers, electric shavers, electric toothbrushes. .. 

Kitchenware such as mixing bowls and basins small appliances, food mixers, coffee filters, outer casings of thermally insulated jugs... 

Appliances such as refrigerators, food mixers, hair dryers, and electric shavers ... 

Household appliances such as electric shavers, food mixers, and coffee grinders... 

ABS is used in place of PS where greater toughness is required. Its uses include musical instruments, notably recorders, and clarinets, car roof boxes, rigid luggage and domestic appliance housings (e.g. food mixers) and children s toys (e.g. Lego building blocks). 

Poly(2,2-bis(4 -phenylene)propane carbonate) is a relatively expensive material and its main applications have been in fields where its desirable properties justify the cost. The polymer is processed mainly by injection moulding and the electrical and electronics industries are the largest users mouldings are used for battery parts, coil formers, fuse covers, and a host of other components. There is also some use in domestic mouldings such as food mixer housings, kitchen utensils and babies bottles. 

There are many other standards that offer guidance on the safe design of electrical systems and equipment. It is impracticable to list them all here but two are worthy of mention. BS EN 60204 Safety of machinery - electrical parts of machinery, is a CEN/CENELEC Type B standard (see Chapter 13) with comprehensive guidance on electrical safety principles relating to machinery. The BS EN 60335 series of standards provides equally comprehensive guidance relating to electrical safety in commercial and domestic equipment such as food mixers, meat sheers, white goods, fly electrocutors and so on. 

This is a iinear poiymer made by the cataiytic oxidative coupiing of 2,6 dimethyi-phenoi. PPO has a use temperature range of -55 to 175 °C. It is transparent but yeiiow in coiour and is rather expensive being used mainiy in engineering appiications. Its resistance to repeated steam sterilisation makes it a useful plastic in food engineering applications. It is also used in the fabrication of domestic food mixers. 

This resin produces mouldings which are resistant to common solvents but are attacked by strong acids. This resin is slightly less resistant to water than phenol-formaldehyde. The impact strength of urea-formaldehyde resins depend on the type of filler used. Frequently, bleached wood pulp is used as a filler. The main interest to the food industry is again that of container closures and in the domestic field they are used as casings for domestic food mixers. 

ABS is widely used for manufacture of housings for a wide range of consumer products. These include cameras, business equipment, TVs, vacuum cleaners, food mixers, telephone sets and audio equipment, and many more. Electrical and electronics applications include transformer housings and switches. Other applications for ABS include pipes, sports equipment, safety helmets, luggage, furniture, medical equipment, tubes and caps. 

Hydroxy functional acrylics are used in general industrial (GI) stoving rinishes in two distinct capacities. They are used to impart highly durable finishes for exterior components such as tractor sheet metal and cabs, fenders for earth moving equipment, or as one coat finishes in more wide ranging metal finishing such as office furniture, irons, microwave ovens, toasters, food mixers and blenders.
