A prismatic battery of larger capacity can be assembled from one or more stacked bicells, whose current collector tabs are welded inside the packaging and thus present only a single metal foil feed-through tab connected to each of the two multi-plate electrodes. To facilitate multi-plate battery assembly and alignment, individual bicells may be Z-folded to prevent electrodes and current collectors from breaking at the fold line they may also be eonneeted by common current collector(s), separator(s), electrode layer(s), ete. [Pg.1146]

The molds not only include the connections and the periphery, but also the electrodes and milling programs. These must be present in order to be able to perform a quick repair in case of damage. It should be specified to the mold supplier how the electrodes are set up, so that a precise position in the mold can be found. Each plastic molded part may include grippers, auxiliary devices such as foil feeding, stentering frames, sprue grippers, vacuum suckers, hot runner nozzles, and gas and water injectors. [Pg.699]

In the Type II case, the copolymerization tends toward an alternating arrangement of monomer units. Curve II of Figure 1 shows an example of an alternating copolymer that has an azeotropic copolymer composition, ie, a copolymer composition equal to the monomer feed at a single monomer feed composition. This case is analogous to a constant Foiling mixture ia vapor—Hquid equihbria.T) III... [Pg.178]

In the last few years, special attention has also been paid to the exposure of humans to bisphenol A (4 -dihydroxy-2,2-diphenyl, BPA Fig. 7.1), well-known for its estrogenic properties. BPA [28] is commonly used as an industrial plasticizer and is found in paints, flame retardants, unsaturated polyester resins, plastic food packaging, containers for water, infant feeding bottles, and foils used for food storage. Several studies have confirmed the presence of BPA, at a detectable level, in a wide variety of food containers [29-31]. Views on the potential danger... [Pg.158]

The geometry of the membrane reactor and the relative locations and flow directions of the feed, permeate and reientate streams all play important roles in the reactor performance. The simplest, but not efficient, membrane reactors consist of disk or foil membranes with a flow-through configuration [Mischenko et al., 1979 Fumeaux et al., 1987]. The same type of membrane reactor can also be consu cted and operated in the more common crossflow mode. [Pg.555]

Leaves yellow, curled, and wilted. Cause Aphids. Look for small, green, pink, gray, black, or white fluffy-coated, soft-bodied insects feeding on plants. Aphids can also transmit viruses. For mild infestations, knock pests off plants with a blast of water. Control with a weak insecticidal soap spray see the caution on page 213 before spraying. Prevent problems by using a foil mulch, which keeps aphids from finding plants. [Pg.85]

The oyster, Crassostrea vlrglnlca, was the species used to monitor uptake by sessile filter-feeding organisms. At least two dozen large oysters were collected from each organism sampling site. These were rinsed in ambient water, wrapped in aluminum foil and stored in plastic Isags on ice for transport to the laboratory where they were then frozen in their shells until ready for analysis. [Pg.232]
