The main uses of propoxur include control of residential and commercial insect pests, domestic animal pests, and mosquitoes. It is available in a wide variety of formulations including aerosols, baits, dusts, emulsifiable concentrates, pest strips, pet flea collars, powders, ready-to-use solutions, and wetta-ble powders.

Flea collar can be prepared by a mixture of cedarwood Juniperus virginiand), lavender Lavandula angustifolid), citronella Cymbopogon winterianus [Java]), thyme oils, and 4-5 garlic Allium sativurn) capsules. This mixture is thinned with a teaspoonful of ethanol and soaked with a collar or a cotton scarf This is good for 30 days (Scents Sensibility, 2001).
