Figure 2 shows the XRD pattern of the copper ferrite prepared by co-precipitation. The diffraction peaks in the scanning range include 112, 103,211, 220, 224 and 321 and the strongest peak appears at around 35°, these correspond to the structure characteristics of the spinel compounds, the strongest peak corresponds the 211 crystal surface. There is no other peak in the spectrum, indicating that the product is pure compound. The crystalline data were shown in Table 1. [Pg.280]

Ferrite-type catalysts may constitute an alternative for perovskites for total oxidation of hydrocarbons as it was demonstrated by ferrites prepared following two routes, that is, the hydrothermal one and the calcination of oxide mixtures with the following compositions Ni >,Fe3 04 (. = 0.5) and Mn Fe3 c04 ( = 0.65) [28]. These studies demonstrated that the structure of the catalysts is very important in providing catalytic active structures. The problem was adhesion of metallization to ferrite components. One supplier provided adherent metallization, another did not. The assumption was that there was something different in the metallization process. The problem turned out to be that the surface of the ferrite prepared by one manufacturer was friable while that used by the other was dense and hard. The adhesion failure was in the friable ferrite surface, not at the interface between the film and the surface. The differences in the fracture properties of the ferrite were evident when the surfaces of the two ferrite materials were scraped with a knife point. [Pg.448]

Chemical Vapor Deposition. In chemical vapor deposition (CVD), often referred to as vapor transport, the desired constituent(s) to be deposited are ia the form of a compound existing as a vapor at an appropriate temperature. Other Metals. Metals such as the austenitic series. Types 301—347, and the ferritic series. Types 409—446, of stainless steels may be enameled, as well as a number of other alloys (17). The metal preparation usually consists of degreasiag and grit blasting. Copper, gold, and silver are also enameled. These metals are usually prepared for appHcation by degreasiag. Copper is pickled usiag either a nitric acid [7697-37-2] or a sulfuric acid [7664-93-9] solution, followed by a dilute nitric acid dip. Silver may be pickled in hot dilute sulfuric acid followed by a dip in a nitric acid solution (18). [Pg.212]

Ferrite is introduced into the aqueous media by two techniques. With the in situ method, ferrite is formed within the actinide-containing solution by addition of Fe(II), Fe(III), and sodium hydroxide. With the preformed ferrite method, ferrite solids are prepared separately and added to the actinide solution. [Pg.374]
