The use of TAG as a curing agent continues to grow for polyolefins and olefin copolymer plastics and mbbers. Examples include polyethylene (109), chlorosulfonated polyethylene (110), polypropylene (111), ethylene—vinyl acetate (112), ethylene—propylene copolymer (113), acrylonitrile copolymers (114), and methylstyrene polymers (115). In ethylene—propylene copolymer mbber compositions. TAG has been used for injection molding of fenders (116). Unsaturated elastomers, such as EPDM, cross link with TAG by hydrogen abstraction and addition to double bonds in the presence of peroxyketal catalysts (117) (see Elastol rs, synthetic). [Pg.88]

No. 1 Busheling. This scrap is a clean prompt iadustrial scrap limited to about 30 cm (12 ia.) ia any dimension. It iacludes new factory busheling such as sheet clippings and stampiags (free of old auto body and fender stock) metals which have been coated, limed, or vitreous enameled and electrical steel containing more than 0.5% siUcon. [Pg.552]

Automotive Refinish Paints. Paint for appHcation to automobiles after they have left the assembly plant is a significant market. Although some of this paint is used for fuU repainting, especiaHy of commercial tmcks, most is used for repairs after accidents, commonly just one door or part of a fender, and so forth. In order to be able to serve this market, it is necessary to supply paints that match the colors of aH cars and tmcks, both domestic and imported, that have been manufactured over the previous ten years or so. Repair paints for the larger volume car colors are manufactured and stocked, but for the smaller volume colors formulas are suppHed by the coatings manufacturer to the paint distributor that permit a reasonable color match for any car by mixing standard bases. [Pg.358]

One of the principal reasons for failure due to reaction with the service environment is the relatively complex nature of the reactions involved. Y"et, in spite of all the complex corrosion jargon, whether a metal corrodes depends on the simple elec trochemical cell set up by the environment. This might give the erroneous impression that it is possible to calculate such things as the corrosion rate of a car fender in the spring mush of salted city streets. Dr. M. Pourbaix has done some excellent work in the application of thermodynamics to corrosion, but this cannot yet be applied direc tly to the average complex situation. [Pg.2417]

For the fenders I require a decorative finish that is of the same appearance as the bodywork. [Pg.245]

Over the years, the flat vertical windshield of 1920 has given way to an increasingly raked windshield, first curved in two dimensions, but now in three. The once ubiquitous vertical flat radiator that fronted the engine compartment has disappeared into a compartment covered by a streamlined front body. Fenders and headlights, both of which were once free standing, are now incorporated into that body. [Pg.100]

Another step would join the hood-fender to the one-piece front end -a single joint-free automobile front end assembly-as a single molded component. [Pg.27]

Rear finishing panels, rear valance panels and rear fender extensions are realities. Tail lamp housings, both hidden and with exterior finish are in common usage. A relatively simple flight of imagination joins all these elements into a one-piece rear end panel. [Pg.28]

Nosek, T.M., Fender, K. Y., Godt, R.E. (1987). It is diprotonated inorganic phosphate that depresses force in skinned skeletal muscle fibers. Science 236. 191-193. [Pg.278]

An increasing variety of automotive parts is being made by thermoforming processes. Many of these products are made from rubber-toughened polypropylene, which are relatively stiff and can withstand a high level of physical abuse over a ivide range of temperatures. When such parts are used in high visibility areas, such as wheel arches, air dams, truck fenders, and... [Pg.274]

Lead monoxide or litharge is mainly used as an accelerator activator, and acid acceptor, and is especially useful in water resistant compounding. Litharge can also be used in long slow cures for such articles as ship s fenders, bridge bearings, etc., where it enables the inside of the product to fully cure before the outside becomes overcured with the possibility of degradation or reversion of the outer layer of the product. [Pg.131]

Fender and Dale approached the James B. Lansing speaker company, (30) asking for a fifteen-inch speaker built to their specifications. The company responded with the fifteen-inch JBL-D13 OF speaker, and it worked. Dale was able to play through the Showman Amp with the volume turned all the way up. With the help of Leo Fender and the designers at Lansing, Dick Dale was able to break through the limits of existing elec-(33) tronics and play the music his way—loud. [Pg.160]

But it wasn t enough. As Dale s popularity increased, his shows got larger. He wanted even more sound to fill the larger halls he now played in. Fender had the Triad Company craft an amp tube that... [Pg.160]
