Federal and State Requirements

Development of the bubble plan cannot delay enforcement of federal and state requirements. [Pg.2158]

The Clean Air Act of 1990 has made trace metal content in fuels and wastes the final ash-related compositional characteristic of significance. Considerable attention is paid (ca 1993) to emissions of such metals as arsenic, cadmium, chromium, lead, mercury, silver, and zinc. The concentration of these metals in both grate ash and flyash is of significance as a result of federal and state requirements of particular importance is the mobility of metals. This mobility, and the consequent toxicity of the ash product, is determined by the Toxic Characteristic Leaching Procedure (tclp) test. Tables 8—10 present trace metal contents for wood wastes and agricultural wastes, municipal waste, and refuse-derived fuel, respectively. In Table 8, the specific concentration of various components in the RDF governs the expected average concentration of trace metals. [Pg.55]

In some states, there are both federal and state exemptions and requirements. Compliance with both federal and state requirements is mandatory. Where federal and state regulations vary, the regulations imposing the higher standard generally apply. [Pg.91]

Because of its references to the US Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), this manual necessarily addresses US federal and state requirements, but Canada-specific guidance is included in the appendix. [Pg.161]

The specific requirements to complete the NSR process will vaiy depending on the source location and characteristics, the federal and state regulations which apply, the compliance status of the facihty if it is existing, and the nature of other sources in the area. Atmospheric dispersion modehng is often necessary to determine the maximum offsite ambient air concentrations of the various pollutants that will be... [Pg.2311]

The manufacture and sale of parenteral products is regulated by federal and state laws, as well as by the USP. Federal drug regulations are discussed in detail in Chapter 20. The USP provides specifications, test procedures, standards, etc. for parenteral products and their packaging components. In addition to individual monographs, the USP limits the use of certain additives (see Table 4), limits the size of multiple-dose containers to 30 mL, and requires a suitable preservative to be added to containers intended for multiple use. [Pg.412]
