Strength of recommendations A, B, C = good, moderate, and poor evidence to support recommendation, respectively. Quality of evidence 1 = Evidence from >1 properly randomized, controlled trial. 2 = Evidence from >1 well-designed clinical trial with randomization, from cohort or casecontrolled analytic studies from multiple time series, or from dramatic results from uncontrolled experiments 3 = Evidence from opinions of respected authorities, based on clinical experience, descriptive studies, or reports of expert communities... 

An essay with a score of 6 reveals a rational and coherent analysis and critique of the argument. The writing is clear and expertly communicates meaning. 

This involves setting up real expert communities, recognized as such by the rest of the organization.

Different levels should be considered for different audiences 1) extensive, detailed reporting for the expert community 2) a 10 page summary plus detailed annex for decision makers and 3) a 3 page folder plus video for the general public. 

Accepting responsibility for safety includes continuing the duty of care to a family with ongoing communication, truth telling, and offers of support from an outside expert. Communication is a core competency of the health care professional and a core duty in a safety culture. The duty for leaders is to try to maintain a healing relationship with patients even in the face of tragedy. 

At the wider level, it is crucial that safety assessment experts communicate their belief that their calculated results, although imperfect, provide sufficiently reliable input for decision makers. Numerical results of analyses extending out to geological times, if presented without sufficient discussion of their significance, lead understandably to accusations of over-optimism, immodesty or even irrationality. On the other hand, failiure to emphasise the conservative nature of safety analyses and the existence of a broad base of scientific facts which make estimates scientifically justifiable would dqprive decision makers and public of a crucial element determining their confidence in and acceptance of waste repositories. 

The Society has been founded in 1978 with the aim to support scientific and research activities and to increase expert knowledge among its members in the field of biomedical engineering and medical informatics as well as to provide information on results of its activities and their implementation in practice among expert community and lay public alike.

What is more, he adds, M S has really stuck to it, even through the recession... I think that is admirable. In the green expert community it is seen as genuine, and not as greenwash. ... 

Ultimately, the two basic human rights of children, to an education and to physical safety, should not be competing for the same funds. The expert community is now driving the initiative and the government appears to be hstening. Many positive steps have been taken in BC, but there is much work left to be done.
