Thermometry is the science of measuring the temperature of a system or the ability of a system to transfer heat to emother system. Temperature mecisurement is important to a wide range of activities, including manufacturing, scientific research, and medical practice. Thermometry relates to the dilatrometric measurement in that the expansion of a gas, liquid or solid is used to determine temperature. 

CSA inhibits T-cell proliferation by inhibiting the production of IL-2 and other cytokines by T cells (see Fig. 87-1). CSA binds to cy-clophihn, a cytoplasmic immunophilin. The CSA-cyclophilin complex inhibits the action of calcineurin, an enzyme that activates the nuclear factor of activated T cells (NF-AT), which is, in turn, responsible for the transcription of several key cytokines necessary for T-cell activity, including IL-2. IL-2 is a potent growth factor for T cells, responsible for activation and clonal expansion. 

Additionally, in the case of validated hits with records of any previously known biological activity, the SAR expansion shall include other small molecules annotated with the same primary target, yet belonging to structurally unrelated scaffolds. When possible, it is also useful to investigate whether it is possible to rescue or compete away the phenotypic effect by adding a small molecule, naturally occurring or synthetic, that has the opposite MMoA on the primary target. 

Entirely new opportunities arise with this ingenuous combining of bills of material and work sheets in transparent, evaluable and resolvable supply chains and their optional expansion to include activities which seem important to an individual or all processes. The primary site of action is postulated to be the Hpid matrix of cell membranes. The Hpid properties which are said to be altered vary from theory to theory and include enhancing membrane fluidity volume expansion melting of gel phases increasing membrane thickness, surface tension, and lateral surface pressure and encouraging the formation of polar dislocations (10,11). Most theories postulate that changes in the Hpids influence the activities of cmcial membrane proteins such as ion channels. The Hpid theories suffer from an important drawback at clinically used concentrations, the effects of inhalational anesthetics on Hpid bilayers are very small and essentially undetectable (6,12,13). 

Direct-reading meters suitable for use with ion-selective electrodes are available from a number of manufacturers they are sometimes referred to as ion activity meters. They are very similar in construction to pH meters, and most can in fact be used as a pH meter, but by virtue of the extended range of measurements for which they must be used (anions as well as cations, and doubly charged as well as singly charged ions), the circuitry is necessarily more complex and scale expansion facilities are included. They are commonly used in the millivolt mode. 

The CLTE is an important consideration if dissimilar materials like one plastic to another or a plastic to metal and so forth that are to be assembled where material expansion or contraction is restricted. The CLTE is influenced by the type of plastic (liquid crystal, for example) and RP (particularly the glass fiber content and its orientation). It is especially important if the temperature range includes a thermal transition such as Tg. Normally, all this activity with dimensional changes is available from material suppliers.
