An EMEA table contains a series of columns for the equipment reference number, the name of the piece of equipment, a description of the equipment type, configuration, service characteristics, etc, which may impact the fadure modes and/or effects, and aflst of the fadure modes. Table 2 provides a Hst of representative fadure modes for valves, pumps, and heat exchangers. The last column of the EMEA table is reserved for a description of the immediate and ultimate effects of each of the fadure modes on other equipment and the system. [Pg.472]

The protection level of the arrester diminishes with the steepness of the wave. As / falls, of the arrester rises, leaving a smaller protection margin across the protected equipment. Refer to the characteristics of an arrester as shown in Figure 18.7, for a 10 kA, 8/20 /is impulse wave. For a front time of, say, 0.5, tis, it will have a of approximately 118% of its rated at 8 /is, and hence will reduce the protection margin as in equation (18.2). [Pg.594]

Apply appropriate zoning criteria, e.g. with respect to standards of electrical equipment (refer to Table 12.6)... [Pg.192]

COPE has 9 modules PM scheduler, corrective maintenance, equipment history, equipment reference listing, spare parts entry, database integrity verification, and training. [Pg.289]

Rotary equipment refers to the pieces of surface equipment in drilling operations that actually rotate or impart rotating motion to the drill pipe. This equipment includes the upper members of the drill string such as the swivel, swivel sub kelly cock, kelly, lower kelly valve, and kelly sub (Figure 4-87), as well as the kelly bushing and rotatary table [13]. [Pg.616]

During the dissolution test, the hydrodynamic aspects of the fluid flow in the vessel have a major influence on the dissolution rate (1). Therefore, the working condition of the equipment is of critical importance. In this chapter, the qualification and calibration of the equipment referred to in the two USP General Chapters related to dissolution, < 711 > Dissolution and < 724 > Drug Release (2), will be discussed. Sources of error when performing dissolution... [Pg.39]

The links to be established with all stakeholders should be clearly specified to enable the laboratory to function efficiently and meet the needs of its customers (the society through legislation and individuals). The laboratory is supplied with products (reagents, equipment, reference materials), receives services (accreditation, certification, provision of interlaboratory comparison schemes) and cooperates with other laboratories (cooperation in testing, provision of calibration services). [Pg.78]

If there is any doubt concerning suitable materials for construction of equipment, reference should be made to the literature, or laboratory tests should be carried out under conditions similar to the final operating conditions. The results from the laboratory tests indicate the corrosion resistance of the material and also the effects on the product caused by contact with the particular material. Further tests on a pilot-plant scale may be desirable in order to determine the amount of erosion resistance or the effects of other operational factors. [Pg.43]

An American Red Cross first-aid handbook should be part of your laboratory equipment. Refer to it in case of accident, and never hesitate to call a doctor if you are accidentally burned or inhale irritating fumes. [Pg.26]

Recommendations should be as precise as possible and include specific equipment references (e.g. the facility equipment tag numbers) when appropriate. Later interpretation by management and design engineers trying to resolve the recommendation may be confused if the exact nature of the recommendation is not understood. Where further clarifications are needed, the "comments" and "remarks" columns of the worksheet should be used. [Pg.49]

Before purchasing expensive analytical equipment, references should be requested from the manufacturer and the experience of other users should be used. [Pg.213]

The portable electrical and electronic equipment referred to in the study as equipment includes a rechargeable battery and its charger. It was specifically addressed during the interviews under the french generic term of rechargeable equipment. In a similar approach, the replacement batteries mentioned in this report are portable rechargeable batteries. [Pg.44]

With both types of equipment referred to, the potential of the structure can be measured as the voltage between the structure and one of the reference electrodes, disregarding the ohmic potential drop in the water, which is sufficiently accurate... [Pg.228]

Flushing is done by sending solvents under high pressixre into the equipment (refer to Fig. 81). If the equipment has some recessed places, it may be necessary to dismantle the equipment in order to clean it completely. [Pg.164]
