Eotvos University

CAM-PC is a general purpose CA software simulation environment based on CAM-6, Designed by members of the GENOME Project at Eotvos University in Hungary, the first version of CAM-PC extends the possibilities of CAM-6 but is not yet fully compatible with it. The primary addition is support for 8 bit planes, increasing the size of CAM-6 s ccdl-statc alphabet to 256, The laudable purpose behind the project is to provide inexpensive but otherwise fully functional simulation tools for amateur researchers unable to afford faster dedicatcxl hardware.

MECHMOD A utility program written by Turanyi, T. (Eotvos University, Budapest, Hungary) that manipulates reaction mechanisms to convert rate parameters from one unit to another, to calculate reverse rate parameters from the forward rate constant parameters and thermodynamic data, or to systematically eliminate select species from the mechanism. Thermodynamic data can be printed at the beginning of the mechanism, and the room-temperature heat of formation and entropy data may be modified in the NASA polynomials. MECHMOD requires the usage of either CHEMK1N-TT or CHEMKIN-III software. For over forty years our research in structural chemistry has been generously funded by the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and lately also by the Hungarian National Scientific Research Funds. We are also grateful for support to Eotvos University and especially to the Budapest University of Technology and Economics. 

I have recently returned to Budapest after an extended sabbatical in the United States and am continuing my work at Eotvos University. I am 68 and 1 know my abilities. I m good at generating one new idea after another, but I m poor at making contacts with people and securing the necessary funding for my experiments. The lack of proper conditions for creative activities makes my situation almost impossible. But I don t want to ascribe all my difficulties to my surroundings. My own abilities have severe fimitations and 1 just have to live with them.
