Engineering licensing

The postclosure survey report should fully and completely document all activities and all results (data), and it should certify that the closure has been done in compliance with the work plan and all applicable laws and regulations. A professional engineer licensed in the state where the closure was done must attest to the report. (In the case of JACADS, the state is California, where the EPA Region IX office is located.) Appendix E provides two sample tables of contents from industrial RCRA closure survey reports accepted by EPA they can be used as a guide to the contents of the final and interim reports required. Box E-1 shows the table of contents for a final facility RFI postclosure report. Box E-2 shows the table of contents for an interim remedial measures report, used to obtain EPA conditional approval for the cleanup of specific areas prior to final facility closeout. [Pg.54]

In this section, you will solve the equations for an isothermal plug flow reactor. The first problem is very simple, and is patterned after a problem on the California Professional Engineers License Examination, according to Fogler (2005). Here it is modified. You take a reactor in which components A and C are fed in equimolar amounts, and the following reaction takes place ... [Pg.118]

Sanitary engineers typically work for public health departments and government regulatory agencies. Some become professors and conduct academic research. Some work in private testing laboratories and research firms. Some operate water- treatment plants and pollution-control facilities. Others work as consultants to manufacturers, corporations, and private homeowners. Others may work abroad in countries where basic sanitation needs are not yet met. A professional engineering license is generally required for... [Pg.1639]

Engineering students in other disciplines, however, are likely to hear about what is called the industrial exemption. Under the industrial exemption, which is in effect in most U.S. jurisdictions, state registration laws indicate that an engineer does not necessarily need to have an engineering license to practice engineering. [Pg.66]

While many engineering faculty members will support the engineering licensing process, especially for the engineers who intend to practice engineering, some will be neutral or negative toward licensing. They may base this partly on the industrial... [Pg.67]

The capital cost of a THERMAL DeNO, system includes the costs of ammonia and carrier gas systems, injectors, instrumentation and controls, installation, engineering, licensing fees, and, for a retrofit, the cost of any nnodifications. Retrofit applications usually involve neither major modifications nor excessive downtime. The capital cost is application specific and depends on the initial NO, concentration, the size of the boiler, the NO, reduction required, the load following capability, and the ammonia carryover limitations. [Pg.904]
