An integrated approach to municipal waste management is put forward as the only sensible solution, selecting from a range of resource management and reeovery options. These are examined and diseussed, with particular reference to incineration with energy recovery. 

In May, 1991, Hemy Thomas, a former Assistant Secretary ofEnergy and executive of the American Gas Institute, described his vision for an energy future in the US to participants at a Federal executive seminar on foreign policy. He described nuclear power as safe - but then said that natural gas would become the energy resource of choice because of the inability to manage nuclear wastes. 

Considerable attention has been paid to the application of CNTs as the catalyst support for Fischer Tropsch synthesis (FTS), mainly driven by utilization of the confinement effect (Section 15.2.3). In general, this process is a potential alternative to synthesize fuel (alkanes) or basic chemicals like alkenes or alcohols from syngas, which can be derived from coal or biomass. The broad product spectrum, which can be controlled only to a limited extent by the catalyst, prohibited its industrial realization so far, however, it is considered an important building block for future energy and chemical resource management based on renewables. 

The scientific content of green chemistry can be easily taken for the aims of IGN, whose main research topics are energy, green manufacture, life-cycle analysis, pollution prevention, food security, and chemical resources management.

There are several possible ways to mitigate C02 emission problems. Among them are traditional approaches including (i) more efficient use of fossil fuel energy resources, (ii) increased use of clean fossil fuels, such as NG, and (iii) increased use of non-fossil fuels (nuclear power and renewable sources).
