Endurance vaporizers

Electron impact (El) ionization is one of the most classic ionization techniques used in mass spectrometry. A glowing filament produces electrons, which are then accelerated to an energy of 70 eV. The sample is vaporized into the vacuum where gas phase molecules are bombarded with electrons. One or more electrons are removed from the molecules to form odd electron ions (M+ ) or multiply charged ions. Solids, liquids and gases can be analyzed by El, if they endure vaporization without decomposition. Therefore the range of compounds which can be analyzed by El is somewhat limited to thermally stable and volatile compounds. The coupling with gas chromatography has been well established for... [Pg.10]

Vinyl-coated fabrics exhibit high density, extremely low water vapor and air permeabiUty, cold touch, poor flex endurance, and plasticizer migration. However, they have good scratch resistance and colorabiUty and are inexpensive. [Pg.90]

Electrolyte management, that is, the control over the optimum distribution of molten carbonate electrolyte in the different cell components, is critical for achieving high performance and endurance with MCFCs. Various processes (i.e., consumption by corrosion reactions, potential driven migration, creepage of salt and salt vaporization) occur, all of which contribute to the redistribution of molten carbonate in MCFCs these aspects are discussed by Maru et al. (4) and Kunz (5). [Pg.132]

The hazards associated with occupational exposure to phosphoric acid depend on its acidic nature. Concentrated phosphoric acid is corrosive to exposed tissue, and lower concentrations are irritating to the skin, eyes, and mucous membranes. Phosphoric acid has a low vapor pressure at room temperature and is unlikely to present an inhalation hazard unless introduced into the atmosphere as a spray or mist. Unacclimated workers could not endure exposure to fumes of phosphorus pentoxide (the anhydride of phosphoric acid) at a concentration of lOOmg/m exposure to concentrations between 3.6 and 11.3mg/m produced cough, whereas concentrations of... [Pg.582]

The moisture content of the paper has a strong effect on the folding endurance test. The swelling and shrinkage which accompany adsorption and desorption of water vapor cause shifting and rearrangement of... [Pg.284]

The final product, when pure, is a clear somewhat oily liquid, of 1.7 specific gravity, which boils at 156 C. (312 F.), yielding a vapor 6.5 times denser than air wdth a piquant fruity odor. At 20 0. (68 F.), its volatility is 100.0 mg. per liter. Although the liquid ethyidichlorarsine is slowly hydrolysed by water, the vapor seems sufficiently stable to endure for its ordinary period of persistency in the field. The hydrolysis product, ethylarsenious oxide, is also poisonous when swallowed.. lthough ethyidichlorarsine is but little soluble in w ater, it is soluble in... [Pg.220]

The water balance inside FCS requires at least a water condenser located at the outlet of the stack. This device has the dual role to condense a significant part of the water content of the warm and wet cathodic outlet stream (a mixuire of nitrogen, oxygen, and water vapor with the probable presence of small water liquid droplets) for re-cycling in humidification devices, and to transfer/recover a part of significant thermal energy content of the cathode stream. The condenser could also collect, but in minor quantities, the excess water content of the anode compartment. The condenser is then aimed at maintaining the vehicle endurance and to cooperate to efficiency maximization. [Pg.121]

X 10" mm Hg 20°-25°C (Table XI). Fumigants have much higher vapor pressures, but they will not be included here since their residues in soils and waters do not usually endure long. [Pg.86]

On contact with the metal surface, the vapor of these salts condenses and reacts with moisture to liberate protective ions, ft is desirable, for an efficient VCI, to provide inhibition rapidly and to last for long periods. Both qualities depend on the volatility of these compounds, fast action wanting high volatility, whereas enduring protection requires low volatility. A convenient partial vapor pressure for closed spaces VCIs will lie between 10 to 10 Pa (Table 14.5). [Pg.621]

Fuel filler neck hose is co-injection molded with a 0.6 mm layer of fluoroelastomer Vi-ton, which reduces hydrocarbon emission to less than 0.01 g/day. Viton is used for fuel sender seals and the inner layer of turbo hose for transmitting hot fuel vapors. Fluo-roelastomers have good barrier resistance to aromatic hydrocarbons and oxygenated hydrocarbons, which is a reason for their enduring use for fuel delivery applications. [Pg.620]

The ability of fabric to allow water vapor to penetrate is commonly known as breath-ability. This should more scientifically be referred to as water vapor permeability. Although perspiration rates and water vapor permeability are usually quoted in units of grams per day and grams per square meter per day, respectively, the maximum work rate can only be endured for a very short time. Dining rest, most surplus body heat is lost by conduction and radiation, whereas during physical activity, the dominant means of losing excess body heat is by evaporation of perspiration. It... [Pg.251]

Applications of such tri-blends include semiconductor devices, including microchips, flat panel displays, and the hke. In the manufacture of such apparatus, such blends can be used as components of the vapor deposition chamber, process housing components, and materials holding fixtures or molds, in order to be inert to the vapor deposition environment and to prevent off-gas contamination. These blends may also be used in components of semiconductor etching, ashing, wafer transportation, and as hard-disc media cassettes where support components may function as a seal, insulator, holding or transportation device which must endure exposure to the harsh processing environments. Further applications for such blends can be found in various industrial, chemical, and petrochemical processes where the temperature resistance in chemical environments extends the life cycle of parts used in such fabrication processes. [Pg.192]
