CD 10 is a marker of early lymphoid progenitor and normal germinal center cells. However, in the nonhe-matopoietic arena, it reacts mainly against proteins of the epithelium of the renal proximal tubule. ENDOMETRIAL STROMAL NODULE AND LOW-GRADE ENDOMETRIAL STROMAL SARCOMA... 

As is the case with undifferentiated carcinomas, undifferentiated sarcomas are an extraordinarily heterogeneous collection of different tumors. The undifferentiated endometrial sarcoma (of which many examples were considered high-grade endometrial stromal sarcoma) is the best known member of this group. Despite this, the criteria for diagnosing this tumor and its immunophenotype are not well understood. Some examples might represent de-differentiation from a low-grade endometrial stromal sarcoma.Immunohlstochemistry has been studied in a small series of such cases. CDIO and PR expression were noted to be lost when compared to the differentiated components in most cases.

Note that this translocation is not distinctive for the high-grade poorly differentiated endometrial stromal sarcoma. In a case report the t(10 17)(q22 pl3) translocation was described in association with the high-grade variant, which may signify that this variant has a different pathogenesis or histogenesis.

Observational studies In a phase 2 trial of mifepristone 200 mg/day in women with advanced or recurrent endometrioid adenocarcinoma or low-grade endometrial stromal sarcoma, there were no partial or complete responses [82 ]. The most frequent grade 1 and 2 adverse reactions were anorexia, fatigue, and mood alterations which occurred in 50%, 50%, and 58% of patients respectively. The most common grade 3 adverse reactions were fatigue and dyspnea, which occurred in 25% and 17% of patients respectively. One patient had grade 4 dyspnea. There were asymptomatic rises in corticotrophin in 33%.
