Encoding transcriptional regulation

Homeobox is a short, 180 base pair long DNA sequence present in homeotic genes. The homeobox encodes transcriptional regulators with characteristic DNA-binding motife. 

In addition to membrane-associated responses, auxin treatment results in rapid changes in gene expression. Several families of auxin-induced genes have been identified (see [5] for references). Recent results indicate that some auxin-induced genes encode transcriptional regulators themselves, suggesting that these genes function to mediate downstream responses [17].
