Dienophiles with various tail lengths were applied in a 1 1 molar ratio to react with cyclopentadiene in the presence of a catalyst. The smaller dienophile reacted slightly faster than the bulkier one with each of the catalysts investigated (non-dendritic parent complex, G1. Cu(OTf)2, and G3.Cu(OTf)2).
