SOFC Anode, cathode, electrolyte Powder synthesis... [Pg.77]

When the discovery of NASICON was first announced, its preparation was claimed to be free of the difficulties attributed to the processing of 8"-alumina electrolytes " . Since that time, considerable effort has been devoted to powder synthesis, forming, and... [Pg.365]

Preparation of Solid State Electrolytes 17.3.7.3. Zircronia-Based Ceramic Electrolytes. 17.3.7.3.1. Powder Synthesis and Treatment. [Pg.372]

Fig. 39.1a shows a schematic representation of the HUP/C supercapacitor a pure solid electrolyte membrane separates two composite electrodes composed of a mixture of highly polarizable electrode particles and electrolyte crystallites. Current collectors and plastic encapsulation complete the component. The manufacturing process involves (i) synthesis of electrolyte powder for the pure electrolyte membrane (ii) synthesis of the intimate mixture of composite electrode parts (iii) pressure performing of the membrane (iv) assembly of the two composite electrodes and the... [Pg.568]

CHEMICAL SYNTHESIS OF MIXED OXIDE POWDERS FOR SOLID OXIDE FUEL CELL (SOFC) ELECTROLYTE AND ELECTRODES... [Pg.147]

Among the systems of alkali metal fluorides containing boron oxide, the melts of the system LiF-KF-B203-Ti02 were tested as possible electrolytes in the electro-chemical synthesis of titanium diboride, especially when well-dispersed powders should be... [Pg.70]

Decreasing operation temperature of solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) and electrocatalytic reactors down to 800-1100 K requires developments of novel materials for electrodes and catalytic layers, applied onto the surface of solid electrolyte or mixed conducting membranes, with a high performance at reduced temperatures. Highly-dispersed active oxide powders can be prepared and deposited using various techniques, such as spray pyrolysis, sol-gel method, co-precipitation, electron beam deposition etc. However, most of these methods are relatively expensive or based on the use of complex equipment. This makes it necessary to search for alternative synthesis and porous-layer processing routes, enabling to decrease the costs of electrochemical cells. Recently, one synthesis technique based on the use... [Pg.223]

Polypyrrole and many of its derivatives can be synthesized via simple chemical or electrochemical methods [120]. Photochemically initiated and enzyme-catalyzed polymerization routes have also been described but less developed. Different synthesis routes produce polypyrrole with different forms chemical oxidations generally produce powders, while electrochemical synthesis leads to films deposited on the working electrode and enzymatic polymerization gives aqueous dispersions [Liu. Y. C, 2002, Tadros. T. H, 2005 and Wallace. G. G, 2003]. As mentioned above the electrochemical polymerization method is utilized extensively for production of electro active/conductive films. The film properties can be easily controlled by simply varying the electrolysis conditions such as electrode potential, current density, solvent, and electrolyte. It also enables control of thickness of the polymers. Electrochemical synthesis of polymers is a complex process and various factors such as the nature and concentration of monomer/electrolyte, cell conditions, the solvent, electrode, applied potential and temperature, pH affects the yield and the quality of the film... [Pg.242]
