Dynamics plug-ins

Sonic Foundry also has two more capable and flexible FX that can be used for compression— the Graphics Dynamics and Multi-Band Dynamics plug-ins. See Chapter 8 on FX for more information on these. [Pg.130]

As with the Graphic Dynamics plug-in, the Attack and Release operate the same way, usually with a fast attack and a slower release. The Sync stereo channels item at the bottom of the window is the same as well. Unselect this default option if you are having problems only in one channel. [Pg.165]

The twin-screw extruder has proved to be a versatile tool for continuous treatment of vegetable matter, either for food or non-food applications. Trials for the direct alkaline extraction of xylans from wheat bran in a twin-screw extruder were unsuccessful. Bran impregnation with sodium hydroxide in the twin-screw extruder was very efficient, but it was necessaiy to make the separation between the hemicellulosic gel and the lignocellulosic matrix in another apparatus and remained difficult without a dilution to a L/S ratio of 50. Bran and straw co-extrusion was therefore investigated to be able to reduce the L/S ratio. Straw fibres form a dynamic plug in the restrictive elements of the screw profile just after the filtration zone. The pressure induced in the extruder sheath by the cellulosic fibres enabled the liquid/solid separation. [Pg.43]

In HPLC, the mobile phase is constantly passing through the column at a finite rate. The sample injections are made rapidly in the dynamic state in the form of a narrow band or plug (see Fig. 15.1), which provides a significant advantage over older stop-flow injection techniques in HPLC. After a sample has been injected as a narrow band, the separation can then be envisioned as a three-step process shown in the figure ... [Pg.493]

Illustrate When scientists display a "live" chemical object, they can use the Chime Pro plug-in directly to visualize molecular animations, raising the chemistry electronic publication standard to a new level. Researchers can use Chime Pro to publish dynamic electronic chemistry objects, rather than simply view static chemistry pictures. [Pg.225]

Extraction can be performed in either a static or dynamic mode. In the latter mode, the extractant is continuously flowing through the vessel, whereas the static mode allows the sample to soak in it. Problems associated with continuous extraction are restrictor plugging (6) and that dissolved water modifies the SCF, making extraction conditions difficult to predict, whereas static extraction can be inefficient and slow. In practice, a combination of both has been found to be the most effective to achieve maximum efficiency (7). [Pg.540]

In these equations the reaction rate is denoted by r concentrations by c, the rate constant by kj and adsorbed species by. The concentration of vacant sites is expressed as c. The kinetic analysis of a reaction can be performed with the use of model fitting and non-linear regression analysis. The transient step-responses could be described quantitatively with a dynamic plug flow model as discussed above. A comparison between the experimental data and the simulations is given in Figure 8.10. [Pg.298]

Track compression is another excellent way to emphasize a track in a song, but it differs significantly from equalization. Equalization and Compression can be used in concert to improve the sound of a track. Compression is extremely widely used and is a primary tool in any engineer s toolbox, especially in popular music. Almost all popular music you hear has had some compression applied to it, most commonly at the track level. Many people now feel that compression is overused nowadays. In reality, it is bad compression that is overused. Compression is a powerful and useful tool that should be intelligently used where needed (for example, to cover for musicians who cannot control their own dynamics). Compression is an excellent effect to use early in a chain of plug-ins (see Chapter 8). [Pg.128]

The best place to use compression in ACID is at the track level. The danger of squashing a song into dynamic oblivion increases greatly when compression is used at the bus or project level. Sonic Foundry Track Compression is the simplest of the compression plug-ins. Using it usually results in an increase in the loudness of a track, although this isn t necessarily the case. To apply Track Compression ... [Pg.129]

After the signal is cleaned up with dynamics and equalization, many of the more special effects are added. Distortion on a guitar part would come immediately after these effects. This might be followed by the various pitch effects, such as Vibrato, the Gapper/Snipper effect, and the XPressFX Stutter plug-in. [Pg.143]
