Double systems

The mechanical supports of the tank containing helium, are made of low-conductivity materials such as stainless steal or fibreglass. Sometimes a double system of supports is used strong supports (fairly conductive) which stand the high launch accelerations (up to 30 g) are added which are eliminated when the satellite is in orbit in the absence of gravity. [Pg.316]

The emf developed by this double system is the algebraic sum of those developed by two calomel-sodium electrode pairs ... [Pg.83]

The simplest version of the atomic interferometer consists of two electrodes with the slits for passing the beam, separated with the variable gap L. For Lamb shift measurement corresponding interferometer is made of two two-electrode systems with longitudinal electric fields, mixing 2S and 2P-states. The systems were separated with a field-free gap of variable length L. This implies, that it is possible to write an exact expression for the probability W(L)e1,e2 of the yield I2P of 2P-atoms from the double system and determine, by processing the experimental dependence I2p(L), the Lamb shift value S. [Pg.358]

Symbols , D-methionine O, N-carbamoyl d-methionine , D,L-methylthioethylhydantoin , sum of all three [9]. The semicontinuous design allows a more efficient heat recovery than a batch system. Heat recovery is perfomed by means of indirect economizers (Figure 12). Steam produced in the bottom deodorized oil-cooling section is sent in a closed thermosiphon loop to the top bleached oil-heating section to heat the incoming oil. A single thermosiphon system has a recovery efficiency of 50%. With a double system, coupled with a low-pressure steam-production device, up to 75% of heat can be recovered. [Pg.2785]

The cabinets for cellular telephones are made of steel or aluminum. A double system of galvanizing and painting steel cabinets is applied for corrosion protection. Surface preparation by grinding and the application of zinc chromate primer is done prior to galvanizing. There are nearly 4000 cabinets for cellular telephones in use, and the estimated cost for corrosion is approximately 4 million. [Pg.277]

Some typical tetrahedral orbital schemes are shown in Figure 3.10. The symmetrically bonded P04 anion contains a double system of n bonds equally distributed over all of the four linkages, whereas in POCI3 the tt-bonding resides almost wholly in the phosphoryl linkage. These cases correspond to the classical valence bond concept of resonance in the case of the PO4 anion (3.16a) and a fixed double bond in the case of POCI3 (3.16b). For alternative representations of the PO4 anion (see 5.33). [Pg.59]

However, the tricyclization of terminal diyne-al 224 at 60°C for 68 h gave fused 5-7-5 lactone 225 and aldehyde 226 (Scheme 100). The kinetic product was not isolated in this case. Thus, the preferential formations of222 and 225 indicate that the two endo-double system is substantially more favorable than the two exo-double bond system. [Pg.860]

We are chiefly concerned with LC structures wherein mesogenic entities are present as substituents connected (generally via a spacer) to a flexible polymer backbone that is not itself inherently mesogenic, although combined or double systems (Table 1.1 in Chapter 1) will be mentioned. The mesogens confer the property of mesophase formation (i.e. between conventional solid and liquid phases) upon the composite structures under thermal control (hence thermotropic ). [Pg.351]
