Unimolecular reaction, double-well system

The N0a5 0 -1- NO system appears to have been studied more extensively than any other at present it will therefore be discussed in some detail. Dissociation was investigated with shock waves at temperatures and [NOa]/[M] ratios where bimolecular reaction between NOg molecules was suppressed. The subsequent reaction of O atoms with NO2 always doubled the rate of unimolecular dissociation. As this reaction is well known from other studies, its effect on the kinetics is easily determined. [Pg.21]
