DIGITAL ANALYSIS

Scale bar 200 pm. Red arrows indicate the avascular zones. Quantification of digital analysis of the fluorescence angiography images number of branching points (mm2) (B) and mean mesh size (102 pm2) (C) as markers of vessel density for CAM. P < 0.05 was considered to be statistically significant. Error bars represent standard error of the mean. [Pg.5]

Sometimes a thorough examination of the artwork can determine authenticity. Forgers may use colors not available during the artist s life. Brushwork, themes, and techniques can be assessed. Unusual materials make a work suspect. Also, the usual methods can be applied to detect a forgery fluorescence, spectroscopy, X-rays, neutron activation analysis, radioactive dating and, more recently, digital analysis. [Pg.348]

Digital analysis of the composition showed that there is an average particle diameter of 0.0106 micrometers with a range of 0.005 micrometer to 0.0851 micrometers. However, size distribution analysis shows that more than 95% of the particles were between about 0.005 micrometers and about 0.015 micrometers in diameter. [Pg.5]

Mass recovery is calculated by comparing the peak area resulting from injection of a sample through the column with the peak area from injection of an identical sample through a by-pass. The areas under the chromatogram have been measured with a Zeiss M0P-3 (modular system for quantitative digital analysis). Mass recovery is evaluated from the following expression ... [Pg.291]

Automatix produces automated image analysis packages comprising data collection, spreadsheet analysis and charting to be used with the Macintosh computer. This has been used, in conjunction with ancillary equipment, to produce a computer digital analysis system [137] for around 4,000 [138]. Later, a more sophisticated system, costing around 20,000, was described for digital examination of film. [Pg.181]

Figure 1.7 The porosity as a function of distance from the front surface of the sample. The porous layer was obtained in the run shown in Figure 1.6. The values of porosity are extracted from digital analysis of the SEM images. The solid line is a fit to Equation (1.3), which gives P = 21% for the average porosity. Reproduced from Y. Shishkin etal.,J. Appl. Pbys., 96(4), 2311-2322. Copyright (2004), the American Institute of Physics... Figure 1.7 The porosity as a function of distance from the front surface of the sample. Figure 12-13. Mean curvature of the peaks of a ground surface as a function of the interval at which the profilometric trace is sampled. The full line is calculated from a theoretical equation. The experimental points are derived from digital analysis of the profile shown in Fig. 12-11. Data by Whitehouse and Archard [10]. Figure 12-13. The digital analysis resulted in a power spectrum which is surprisingly undramatic. Although the eye can clearly see bands, the spectrum has no features which can be attributed to the bands. However by defining a characteristic wavelength X which is the midpoint of the power spectrum, a single quantity was unambiguously obtained, the evolution... [Pg.386]

A DMU allows users to perform digital analysis on the product representation without needing to destroy or damage the mock-up. Performing analysis of several types on the DMU is the most common use of it besides mere visualization. The most performed analysis are static coUision and clearance detections which serve as starting point for analysis of further complexity such as dynamic collision detection, assembly and use analysis etc. [Pg.368]
