Depressed Lettering

Products in this process can have deep sections and relatively sharp comers. However RM flat, particularly large relatively uniform wall thickness surfaces are difficult if not impossible to produce. This process can be used to mold complex products that may require three or four split molds. Also, different finished surfaces are obtained. For example, the products surface finish is dictated by the inside surface of the mold. This makes it easy to obtain smooth as well as textured surfaces on the product. Raised or depressed letters, fluting, and other decorative inscriptions may also be molded. [Pg.201]

A raised letter is visible only if it is at least 3 mil high. Letters that are over 30 mil high should be tapered and have fillets at the base. Raised letters can be decorated or painted by roll coating. With depressed letters, the surface of the part is spray painted and the excess wiped away, leaving paint in the recess. [Pg.319]

COMMENT It is interesting in that letter that George Greer wrote to me informally, off the record, that he had seen 10 patients in psychotherapy who had been treated extensively with fenfluramine for dieting. And, after several weeks on fenfluramine, they became very depressed, and two of them committed suicide. So that is a very serious consideration. [Pg.318]

Three terms beginning with the letter R are used to describe the improvement of a depressed patient after treatment with an antidepressant, namely response, remission, and recovery. The term response generally means that a depressed patient has experienced at least a 50% reduction in symptoms as assessed on a standard psychiatric rating scale such as the Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (Fig. 5—2). This also generally corresponds to a global clinical rating of the patient as much improved or very much improved. Remission, on the other hand, is the term used when essentially all symptoms go away, not just 50% of them (Fig. 5-3). The patient is not better the patient is actually well. If this lasts for 6 to 12 months, remission is then considered to be recovery (Fig. 5—3). [Pg.142]

Two terms beginning with the letter R are used to describe worsening in a patient with depression, relapse and recurrence. If a patient worsens before there is a complete remission or before the remission has turned into a recovery, it is called a relapse (Fig. 5—4). However, if a patient worsens a few months after complete recovery, it is called a recurrence. The features that predict relapse with greatest accuracy are (1) multiple prior episodes (2) severe episodes (3) long-lasting episodes (4) episodes with bipolar or psychotic features and (5) incomplete recovery between two consecutive episodes, also called poor interepisode recovery (Table 5—11). [Pg.142]

Hilgard also preached temperance and the importance of wine quality. His famous letter (7) to William Randolph Hearst on what was wrong with the industry was published in the San Francisco Examiner of August 8,1889. In answer to the question What do you consider the cause of the present depression in the wine market he wrote Chiefly and fundamentally, the poor quality of the larger part of the wines made, and their immaturity when put on the market. It is high time that the ostrich-like policy of hiding the faults of our winemaking from ourselves were done away with once for all. ... [Pg.12]
