Deeds

In the intervening years mueh excellent analytical work has been done by Libby, Lord, Dodd, Deeds, Palanisamy and many others which has given us a practical method of understanding eddy current behavior in many applications including nuclear inspection and aerospace where problems of safety and reliability have become so important to us all. [Pg.274]

Bromosafrole is a great stepping stone to final product and was, in fact, the exact precursor used by Merck who was the first person to synthesize MDMA. Until very recently it was the defacto method that most underground chemists started out with (Someone-Who-Is-Not-Strike included) because, at first glance, it seems so simple and uses basic chemicals and equipment. Once someone has the bromosafrole, all one has to do is just swap out that Br with simple ammonia or methylamine and the deed is done. [Pg.142]

Three years later Robert F Furchgott discov ered that the relaxing of smooth muscles such as blood vessel walls was stimulated by an unknown substance produced in the lining of the blood vessels (the endothelium) He called this substance the endothelium-dependent relaxing factor or EDRF and in 1986 showed that EDRF was NO Louis J Ignarro reached the same conclusion at about the same time Further support was provided by Salvador Moncada who showed that endothelial cells did in deed produce NO and that the l arginine to l citrulline conversion was responsible... [Pg.1149]

Use Equipment Only When deeded. Start morning warm-up no earHer than necessary and do not use outside air for ventilation until the building is occupied. Use minimum amounts of outdoor air according to reference 8. Supply heat at night only to maintain a temperature above 13°C. Supply Heating and Cooling from the Most Efficient Source. [Pg.362]

The prime need is to discover the realities under the labels, i.e. the deeds, activities or things which the other fellow is talking about. Once these are understood accurate communication can take place whether the labels are agreed on or not. In contrast, if communication is purely through labels, it is easy to be deluded into believing there is understanding despite the fact that each of the parties literally does not know what the other fellow is talking about. [Pg.44]

Although I have defined terms such as quality control and quality assurance in this chapter, what is important is not the definition but the deeds which it imbues. Whether we call the set of principles I have listed under the heading Quality assurance, Quality Assurance, Quality Improvement or Quality Control makes no difference since it does not change the set of principles. We often seem to invent a term then decide what it means rather than invent or discover a set of principles and think of a suitable name which conveys exactly what we intend without confusing people. Instead of saying Quality control is. .. or TQM is. .. to which there will be many propositions, we should be asking What should we call this group of principles so that we can communicate with each other more efficiently As Shakespeare once said That which we call a rose/By any other name would smell as sweet. ... [Pg.44]

A lease or contract of tenancy can be verbal but is usually in writing, as there is the possibility of misunderstandings and thus disputes. In some cases, this is overcome by a deed that sets out the conditions of the letting. This is a contractual document, which is made by indenture,... [Pg.49]

He takes the book and looks at it. I had no time at Northampton, and this little book is all I could bring with me. I can see the lad is disappointed, in the book and its small, rough woodcuts, and in me as its possessor. It s a printed book. There are hundreds the same, made by a press, a machine, and sold for a shilling or two. You could have many yourself, full of prayers and tales and great deeds. Not just a missal. I see his face, and laugh. I know. Most boys do not care for book-learning. Even Ned had to be tempted to his desk, when the sun was out over the Teme and he had a new horse to try. ... [Pg.333]
