Daily feed ratio

The packed-bed anaerobic filter had a gross volume of 18.5/ and a void ratio of 0.63. Filter effluent was recirculated continuously to the inlet end at a recirculation ratio of 5.1 (defined as the ratio fo the recycle flow rate to the daily feed flow rate) to dilute the incoming feed and accelerate the transport of digestion products out of the culture. The filter had a hydraulic detention time of about 2.33. days (defined as the gross volume divided by the daily feed flow rates). [Pg.258]

Performance results are given in Table 1. During the 27-d period, the ADG and final BW increased linearly (P<0.01) and quadratically (P<0.05) as the Ile Lys ratios increased and seems to maximize at the SID Ile Lys ratio of 53.3% (Table 1). Average daily feed intake (ADFI) also increased (F<0.05 linear) by graded levels of Ile Lys ratio. The gain feed was not affected by the dietary treatments. The PUN level decreased (P<0.05 linear) by increasing levels of Ile Lys ratio. [Pg.611]

The cow acts somewhat as a filter and discriminator in the transmission of radionuclides from feed to milk. Of the daily quantities of I and Cs ingested, about 1% is secreted in every kilogram of milk produced. For Ba and Sr the rate of transmission is less. Furthermore the cow discriminates against some of the radionuclides in favor of related elements. Thus the Sr/Ca ratio is reduced by a factor of about 10 in the passage from feed to milk. [Pg.13]

In tube mill grinding, it is desirable to know the exact ratio between the tube-mill classifier circuit and the original feed. Tonnage samples with this end in view are not acceptable, as it is practically impossible to determine the moisture in a pulp from a sample large enough to represent the tonnage accurately. This ratio can be determined easily from the daily screen tests. ... [Pg.208]

About 40 % of the hydrogen produced worldwide is consumed in ammonia synthesis. Feed gas for the steam reformer is methane or gasoline. Adding air in a secondary reformer leads to partial oxidation of the residual methane and of the CO. After separation of the CO2, the product gas is a mixture of nitrogen and hydrogen whose ratio (desired T.3) is adjusted by the operating conditions. NH3 production on an industrial scale allows a daily output of 1000 - 2000 t consuming 80,(X)0 - 160,000 Nm /h of H2. [Pg.314]

Diethylstilbestrol and hexoestrol were administered to cattle increasingly from the mid-1950s either as feed additives or implants. This approach resulted in a 10%-15% increase in daily weight gain, improvement in feed conversion efficiency, and lean/fat mass ratio. As a result of hormone application, the energy required per unit weight of meat produced has reduced [11]. [Pg.232]

Formic (or formate), citric and fumaric acids significantly improved (P<0.05) weaning piglet average daily gain and feed conversion ratio in comparison to the non-... [Pg.43]

Supplementation of 200 ppm essential oil mixture (EOM) that included oregano, clove, and anise oils (no species name or composition given ) in broiler diets was said to sign cantly improve the daily live weight gain and feed conversion ratio (FCR) during a growing period of 5 weeks (Ertas et al., 2006). Similar results were obtained with 400 mg/kg anise oil (composition not known ) (Ciftci et al., 2005). [Pg.661]

Intubation of rabbits with 8 mg capsaicin/rabbit (body wt of about 850 g/day for 35 days) did not have any effect with regard to plasma cholesterol, triglyceride, and HDL-cholesterol when they were on a normal diet [108]. In contrast, in rabbits on a 0.5 % cholesterol diet, capsaicin had a beneficial effect in that the plasma cholesterol, triglycerides, and total cholesterol HDL-cholesterol ratio were significantly lower than in animals fed cholesterol only. Turkeys on a 2-3 mg capsaicin/ kg feed for 9 days along with 0.5 % cholesterol had lower total serum cholesterol than the controls [109]. Hypercholesterolemia was produced by feeding a 0.2 % cholesterol-supplemented diet, and capsaicin and dihydrocapsaicin were administered daily via the buccal route at dose of 4 mg per bird for 6 weeks [110].
