Cyclic time

Once this information has been obtained, the cyclic time of the system can be established. This is primarily an economic consideration, and should be reviewed and reevaluated after the initial sizing of the system. Should the initial capital cost of the adsorber be too high, the cyclic time may be reduced to enable use of a smaller system. In general, the larger the system, the greater the overall efficiency, and the less energy that will be spent per pound of material adsorbed.

In a sense, it is like trend analysis it looks at the relationship of sets of data from a different perspective. In the case of Fourier analysis, the approach is by resolving the time dimension variable in the data set. At the most simple level, it assumes that many events are periodic in nature, and if we can remove the variation in other variables because of this periodicity (by using Fourier transforms), we can better analyze the remaining variation from other variables. The complications to this are (1) there may be several overlying cyclic time-based periodicities, and (2) we may be interested in the time cycle events for their own sake.

The cyclic nature of the catalytic reaction usually does not typically lead to an overall cyclic time dependence or synchronization of the reaction system. Rarely is there a synchronization of the cycle reaction phases on different reaction centers. As long as the reaction conditions are close to the equilibrium condition of a system, stationary kinetics tend to rule. However, for particular systems, when reactions are performed far from their equilibrium complex oscillations in time and even spatial organization may occur. Identify operation clusters - an opo on cluster represents a subset of vertices in the opoation set that are connected by a cycle in the constraint graph, i.e. a cyclic timing requirement is imposed on them.

The execntion of the safety program is done cyclically (time configurable by the user). The cycle time is controlled by the safety application program as well as by the receiver of the safety telegram (e.g. safety output card).
