A special tearing procedure known as diakoptics (K10) was investigated by Brameller et al. (BIO) and by Gay and Middleton (Gl). According to Brameller et al. This is because the test sample is destroyed after the induction period is passed due to tearing by continuous rotation of the rotor whether small or large. To overcome this deficiency and to provide a total cure curve for the entire vulcanization cycle, a series of instruments called cure meters was developed. In each of these instruments the stiffness or modulus of the compound was chosen as parameters for vulcanization continuously. One of the basic tools of analysis for tearing is the cycle matrix. This consists of a matrix of streams (the row) and the loop in which they are contained in columns. For example, consider Figure 3 (the Cavett problem). The cycle matrix is found by placing a 1 in the loop column if a stream appears in a loop or 0 if it does not. All of the papermaking properties showed deterioration as a result of the exposure to the temperatures of the kraft cycle.
