In addition to dynamic vulcanization, the technological compatibilization technique was also adopted by Coran and Patel [34] to obtain thermoplastic vulcanizate having good mechanical integrity and elastic recovery. 

Table II shows data obtained by sequential hexanes and ethanol extractions of the desilylated networks. Attempts to extract the networks prior to desilylation failed because the samples swelled to such a great degree that they lost their mechanical integrity and disintegrated. In Nafion, the hydrophobic perfluorinated segments of the polymer are incompatible with the hydrophilic sulfonic acid groups and thus phase separation occurs. When exposed to water, the hydrophilic domains swell to provide channels for proton transport, whereas the hydrophobic domains provide mechanical integrity and, at least in the case of lower lEC samples.

Tracer formulation is basically a mixture of an oxidizer and a metal fuel together with other additives, included to modify the burning rate, color, radiant output, mechanical integrity and sensitivity. Most of the experimental research concerning CMRs has been made at the laboratory scale, with experiments of short duration.
