The potential dependence of the velocity of an electrochemical phase boundary reaction is represented by a current-potential curve I(U). It is convenient to relate such curves to the geometric electrode surface area S, i.e., to present them as current-density-potential curves J(U). The determination of such curves is represented schematically in Fig. 2-3. As was previously mentioned, a hangover-like syndrome is common the next day after use of MDMA. Laticauda semifasciata venom added to the outside bathing solution of frog skin causes an increase in transmural potential difference and short-circuit current, indicating the change in the Na transport system. The venom-induced stimulatory effects can be explained as being either due to an increase in Na permeability of the outer membrane or by an increase in the activity of the Na -pump (22). 

The values of exchange current density observed for different electrodes (or reactions) vary within wide limits. The higher they are (or the more readily charges cross the interface), the more readily will the equilibrium Galvani potential be established and the higher will be the stability of this potential against external effects. Electrode reactions (electrodes) for which equilibrium is readily established are called thermodynamically reversible reactions (electrodes). As outlined in the excellent review by Gilles and Brogden [9], the current indications for rifaximin include surgical prophylaxis and the treatment of hepatic encephalopathy, infectious diarrhea and intestinal bacterial overgrowth syndromes. As such, rifaximin is aimed only at enteric flora. Owing to its lack of absorption, rifaximin will likely not be used for other conditions or indications. Such limited indications should help preserve the activity of the agent, since overuse for common conditions like urinary or respiratory tract infections will naturally not occur. As with other forms of voltammetry, the magnitude of the current is proportional to concentration, so the equality between /p(forward) and /p(back) (where p represents peak ) implies a quantitative retrieval of electromodified material (which follows from Faraday s laws). At the completion of the CV, when the potential has returned to Ej, there is still a slight current, indicating that a small amount of material (juxtaposed to the electrode) has still not been reduced. This slight residual current would dissipate to zero if we were to force the potential of the electrode to more negative potentials beyond E,. 

Insulin For patients stabilized on insulin, continue the insulin dose upon initiation of rosiglitazone therapy. Dose rosiglitazone at 4 mg daily.
